ahh..those lookin for the value for money kinds...mite want to give the laptops from Xenitis Infotech a second look...its comin on of late in a big way....i heard some sayin that they are introducin laptops in the sub 30000 range...

i want to buy a laptop...i hv an option of buying it from india or US....so tell wht wud be more prudent...

further ,i'm looking at price range of around 60 odd k...i liked fragileninja's Dell laptop.config....so temme wht config will i get in the US at similar prices...

I got a very similar config sony viao..n its AWESOME! !(and for much less than this 😃 )

I have got a 1170US HP. Its featherweight too. I got it for 1200USD.

Its a 1.6 GHZ Centrino. 80 GB HDD, 512 Ram, 8X DVD +-RW/R, pro wireless b/g and bluetoth and much more..
Only drawback, it has got integrated graphics card, so for hi-fi gaming it cries. I don't use it for that purpose.

hey i guess u havent followed the posts earlier to mine...

i have quoted BRAHMA...so ofcourse it has to be the config which brahma has quoted..

moreover brahma has asked to guess the price of that config...
i have quoted the prices that i know @ USD

well for ur range n use..try out HP nx500..(check out the config at website;its latest in the range) Its priced around 65k
Also, theres a compaq notebook for 90k INR n its far ahead in terms of multimedia support n everything from any other pc.But if paying sucha price for conpaq is ok for u; its really good buy.

ya the config is exactly same as urs.
but the softwares n utilities that come along are really good. Speakers r good.viao has a unmatched screen. the similar thing is available around 70 with other brands (viao costs 83k) but sony has bettter battery, multimedia, n overall package.

And heard Lappies in Dubai and US are cheap compared to UK!!

Dubai airport not sure abt that think u have to go to their gallis.

90k is a liitle bit too steep for my pocket.Will definetely check out the HP.Any other suggestions ppl?

Hi guys,

I have zeroed down on 2 models
One is Compaq Presario M2002AL and the other one is Acer TM 2304NLC
Both cost almost the same, around Rs 38,000

Which one should I prefer and Why ?

it depends a lot on the range n config u r looking for.its always cheaper from abroad ..but do the research well if u r not getting it personally.
BTW u get really good notebooks right here in india as well so..its open options, no big deal
