Buying A Laptop

Okay guys,
Now that we have quite a bunch of ppl interested for the 5118, lets see what can be done. I know a coupla BSchoolers, who are working for HP Sales post MBA. So I can contact them and get you the info. But before that, how many are really interested in the deal.

I am kinda skeptical about the Dell service. Anyway if we are able to save around 10k, then isnt it a good deal ?

Im a lil skeptical abt saving as much as 10K... but i guess most of us would settle some something off, better than nothing...

now are u going to fix this poll or start a thread for the 5118?

Hmmm! All said and done, I still might go ahead with the Inspiron 6400. You never know

The poll cant be fixed 😞 Maybe someone can do the honours to start a new thread ?

at close to 55k, this would be one of the best laptops avl in india. and i don't think anyone would leave this lappie if it's fixed at 1-2K above their budgeted price.. so, my guess is that 'almost all' those who have voted in the 50-55k and above ranges would go in for the deal (if it materializes).

P.S. : 'Maverick' could be an exception (just like his name suggests)

negative.. i wudnt suggest getting a compaq laptop.. u can get similar deals with DELL or HP.. try those..

a lot of my frnds have had bad experience with compaq stuff..

Just bought a laptop with a DVD writer...
I wanted to know the pocess of copying a DVD-video into a new DVD...
Does NEROsupport the feature of DVD(video) writing...or do i have to download a plug-in...
with all the techies around...Im really seeking a quick reply...

AFAIK, nero supports direct burning of a DVD video

the nero shud have come bundled with ur dvd writer

nero 7 and above support dvd burning

All this from Singapore for about S$2100, i.e. about 61000 INR....
But the problem I am skeptical about DELL's service. Can u guys tell me how is customer care of DELL in India????

in my opinion, this config is very similar to the hp 5118 which PGites are tryin to get a bulk deal on... y dont u look at that?. that's bound to come cheaper and what's more u also get indian warranty...

first of all...its not Inspiration..its Inspiron.....

you can view the notebooks on the dell india website.....

gr8 to see some activity bak on this thread i thot if every1 buys a 5118 to mera kya hoga kaliya.

me got admit to IMT-N-Bschool of the orange country, wer the bschool isnt organizing laptops, notebooks for students, my budget-50k, ny1 intersted 2 join me?

personally I wanna buy Lenovo as it is rugged and most ppl buy this as after sales service is also gud, PM me jus in case u wanna be part of this bulk deal!

lady, please get your facts right before posting. what do u know about dell's customer care, they are as good as anybody else in the market. Dont just post for the heck of it
