Ok here go my needs and budget. Please suggest some good options.
I have absolutely no idea about laptops. have never gamed in my life and not keen on gaming too much in the future. I am a movie buff and a music freak so will watch a lot of movies and shows and listen to music. And obviously need the laptop for studies.
I dont understand the configs of the processor and RAM, though I would want a large hard drive memory
I am willing to spend a maximum of 40k
P.S. I have my office Dell which will go when I quit. It has complex company softwares and hangs quite a bit, dont know if its because of the softwares or the laptop

i bought Dell N4050 14r inspiron from Croma retail at 40k with below specs:
4gb ram
i5 processor
14inch display
1gb radeon graphics card
windows 7 basic with permanent access to MS Word and Excel.
windows 7 OS cd.
15 months McAfee anti-virus
1TB hdd.
P.S: I talked to Dell exclusive store and they said they are soon phasing out Inspiron series to introduce another series "OD with Windows 8" that is why they are selling of their inventory with better configs now, some with higher RAM or higher hdd :cheers:.

look is really awsome guys and being a very old user of acer, i can guarantee u of its quality, my last acer laptop hardly remained switched off for 10 hrs in its entire time of 2 yrs with me.. extreme downloads and surfing and gaming and movies and cad/cam and wot not...
