I would suggest Vaio there few models under 40k in E series check them..in dell you will inspiron series...i would suggest compare both and decide..my personal choice is sony

Depends on your budget. Inspiron series, XPS are pretty good. Vostro is also decent.

If you are planning to Dell only go for it why doubt in it....as Satwinder said Inspiron series, XPS series are good..dont know about ur second question..:)

Mad-Head SaysNo problem with that, just make sure that your uncle ask for a Worldwide Warranty while purchasing the laptop, if you don't have a Worldwide Warranty then the product after sale service may not be available in India & then you'll be sitting with a Piece of Junk or may have to shell a lot to just get fix as the parts have to be shipped from onsite.:banghead::drinking:

I have absolutely no idea about laptops. have never gamed in my life and not keen on gaming too much in the future. I am a movie buff and a music freak so will watch a lot of movies and shows and listen to music. And obviously need the laptop for studies.
I dont understand the configs of the processor and RAM, though I would want a large hard drive memory
I am willing to spend a maximum of 40k
P.S. I have my office Dell which will go when I quit. It has complex company softwares and hangs quite a bit, dont know if its because of the softwares or the laptop

If you are not inclined towards gaming at all and sole purpose is movies, music and sometime ppts (
) then I wud suggest to go for either i3 or i5 processor. I guess there is not much difference in price. RAM could be 2/3GB and get 500GB hard-disk. It would easily squeeze in your budget. But if 500GB doesn't satiate your hunger, then you can buy one 1TB external hard-disk. It would inflate your budget a bit, but once you possess it, you will be the MOVIE-KING in FMS. :biggrin:BTW, spending more on laptop than on education, eh? 😛

if you are not interested to buy then the best thing is sony (Dell is the next best thing 😁 )
