If you are not into gaming, you don't have to buy a laptop with a dedicated GPU. The inbuilt HD 3000 is more than enough to watch HD movies.
Which is the most commonly used screen size(preferable) 14 or 15.6? Wont 15.6 be a bit too wide? Which is a better brand(one with lesser complaints) Dell or HP or Lenovo?
Puys help me out please, i have been trying to understand laptops for a few days now, but somehow not able to fix on one.
Heard it lacks USB 3.0, is that going to be a serious drawback? What is it? Also it has a battery backup of 3 hrs, is it quite good when it comes to laptops, im not very aware :)
I'm not a hater of Dell but have heard that Dell's laptop are having some battery and heating issues. They work well till they are in warranty but after that, their battery dies. In some cases it dies within 6 months, but since Dell covers it for 1 year, they replace it with new one. But after 1 year, the customer has to shell out money from his/her own pocket. (* the above case is of my friend who is using Dell inspiron 15R. Battery died after ~ 5 months. Also, it was running really hot. They send him a new replacement, its battery died too just before expiry of warranty period :P)
So, if you are getting some really great deal on DELL laptop (like employee referral discount or something), then only go with the Dell, else get a warranty extension pack for 3 years if you are keen on choosing Dell.
Dell without a long warranty should be avoided (IMHO).

Goo for Acer Timeline 5830 It has 8 hrs battery USB 3.0 15.6 screen Dolby Digital 5.1 Low weight 2 kg Smart looks & slim. Doesn't heats up much. Priced around 32 k.
ASUS K55VM is a good laptop 8.3/10 . Of course Service center will be a problem in the future but in India you got many vendors who can fix any laptop for a charged fee. Service centers are good when your laptop is within warranty period but then trust me vendors are a better option. I got my lappi fixed through another service provider & not through service center as the hardware exactly 2 days after the end of warranty period
Oh..is it..If you don't mind Can I ask you...Which ASUS model do you own ?:sneaky:
What about toshiba laptops?? these days they are coming in the range of 30-35k. (Unusual for toshiba).. Are these laptops good? build quality and all those things?
