Configuration seems pretty good and i5 at this cost is quite cheap but Original OS is what is the primary requirement and I am not able to shell out more than 32-34 k.
I have BTW shortlisted one Sony Vaio (Windows 7, 320GB, Ci3,nVidia 512,2GB DDR3) for 32k. It is little low on RAM but I can get it upgraded because RAM's are quite cheap these days. Puys what your take on this.
You can ask the Lenovo dealer for the model which comes with Genuine OS as lenovo g570 has many variants with different specs. And there are few models under G570 tag which comes with Genuine OS.
Btw, Nvidia 512 MB on Vaio might be not sufficient for modern day gaming(if you want to try latest games(2011-2012) on this machine).
And one more thing i want to add, if its Windows 7 32-bit with Vaio, then you cant upgrade beyond 3GB of RAM coz 32-bit OS only support 3.5GB RAM.
So, if you want to have 4GB or more RAM, make sure you have Windows 64 bit edition. 😉

is net book good enough for mba college and which is the best one for it?
severus "snits" Says
This is exactly what i wanted to ask :w00t:
Get a laptop. Netbooks are cute and handy but they are not designed for doing your coursework.Laptops aren't much more expensive and they are a lot more powerful. Use a netbook at home or when traveling for just simple internet access or something...stick with a laptop for your coursework.
I want a laptop in range of 40 k..need it for my MBA ..actully m interested in high graphics games as well...what could be the choices?
What I have found that if you need laptop with good graphics card then go for HP. Trust me Dell and Sony Vaio dealer will say that their laptop has 1GB graphics card but that card would be shi**y.So far only HP laptops have a decent graphics cards ATI/BV both. I know this because 1 yr back 3 of my friend bought new laptop. 2 bought HP @45K with ATI card and performed well in new games at decent setting. whereas the other friend bought vaio with 1GB NV card and it was not worth it.
but only issues is that your battery will drain like anything and wont last long. the choice is yours. I am planning to take my desktop to mba college for gaming and will keep a low end laptop for college.

Can you tell how can a dealer say wrong about 1GB Graphics card, you can check yourself na

what i mean is that dealer try to fool you that more the ram card has better the card. but any gamer knows that this is the most misleading statement. A 128 MB graphics card can perform better and efficiently then a 1GB card. its just a marketing gimmick.

Exactly,, it all lies in the chip ,clock speed of the processor, speed of ram, buffer memory, bus interface, shaders , bus width, bandwidth etc (i think this much is sufficient).
But most people think that having a card with more RAM is better. If that's so, then why there are so many different graphic cards with exactly same amount of RAM but a huge difference in price.
Say for eg. Nvidia GT 210 retails around Rs. 2000 where as Nvidia GT 560 retails around Rs. 12000 while both card have 1GB of RAM. But when we get into details of these cards, that extra 10k price is worth paying. (only if u are serious gamer 😛 )

IT guy to the rescue 😛 That's the correct amount of disk space which you've got. All of the hard drive manufacturers use this particular standard notations(this goes even with pendrives,cd's, dvd's memory card... actually every data storage device.)
Its a DELL laptop. Can i check its configuration anywhere on Dell website. and if it shows 500GB, can i ask for a hard drive replacement.
Bro, that's what i've written, if they say it comes with 500 GB hard-drive, then that means user accessible space will be of around 450-465 GB.
So, if you are getting that much space on your hard drive, then its OK. DELL service will not replace it. If by chance, its showing under 300 GB of total area, then that might be the case that they gave you laptop with 320 GB hdd .
Check out my computer's screenshot, it has a 500 GB + 160 GB hard drive, but I only get 465GB and 149GB as user accessible (due to manufacturer's policy of rounding of 1 KB=1000 byte)
