I need a laptop in the range of around 30000 to 40000Rs not more than that.....
configuration:4gb ram
500gb hard disk
powerful processor
good after sale service
good battery life
decent graphic card...
my usage will be in bschool for projects and presentation, watching movies etc and not for high end games.....
should be sturdy bcoz i will be travelling in bus or train....
can you tell me which companies will be better....
plz reply fast its urgent i have to buy before monday....

i5 2nd gen
640 GB
4 GB RAM
Inbuilt graphics (for ur purpose it would be more than sufficient)
at 37400
if u require seperate graphics card

4 GB ram
at 36500 odd (not sure check it in dell site)
here u get 1 GB dedicated graphics card

one of my friend is going to buy a new laptop for his working purpose...he has a budget of 30-35k...can anyone suggest what brand(or specifically model) he should go for?
ps: am using dell studio but intend not to suggest to buy dell just for poor battery backup...my lappi can not sustain even for an hour in battery

Hey dude as per your requirement for working purpose (no gaming) buy any HP DV series it has good battery backup compared to others..price comes around 30-36k per the config.

I would say go for Acer timeline series even if graphics card battery perfomance too good (im using one) go for 14 inch model very light wt easy to carry

I want to use it for basic purposes: internet, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, e-books, Skype et cetera; office use basically.
I have shortlisted Macbook 13 inch Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz. It comes with 250GB HD and 2GM DDR3 RAM.
I want you people to help me figure out the cons of my choice.

regarding ur ist query.....in my opinion go for dell inspiron 14R or 15R(depends on u wat u want in terms of screen size)..u'll easily get core i5,500gb hard disk,1 gb graphics card,and 4 gb ram for 42000...and if u want this config. in Hp then u have 2 spend a lil less round about 35000. AND PLZZZZZ DON'T EVEN THINK 2 BUY AN ACER LAPTOP..AS THE GRAPHICS QUALITY IS TOOO LOW.....
now ur 2nd query sorry but u have 2 use the tab with the reliance network only..u can consider other options like hcl's tab which is also nyc...

see it is a 14 inch laptop with windows 7(u can get any version installed on it)
but usually comes with the windows 7 home premium. then it has 4 gb ram,500gb hard disk, 1 gb ati raedon hd graphics card,full qwerty keyboard(including numeric keys),comes with switchable lids which r trendy to use and the main thing which is the USP of this laptop and that is 1 year full accidental coverage. they cover each and evry thing in ur waranty including accidental effects
...they'll charge u nutting if by chance ur laptop gets broken in that 1 year. so all in all a grrr8 deal....

in my view go for hp pavilion series.....u'll easily get a laptop with the following config.
500gb hard disk,4 gb ram,1 gb graphics card,i5 processor...it is an ideal config for you....it'll cost u around 34000

I am confused which to buy acc to my requirements. Is it worth spending extra amount for processor?

Mate don't spend 41000 bucks on acer,its not worth it. If you can spend more than 41000 then go for dell inspiron. the config. is same with 4 gb ram and 1gb ATI raedon graphics card....ATB

Thanks for youe advice, but shoud i go fro i3 or o5 processor, going by my needs mentioned in above posts.
