Buying A Laptop

what will be the cost if i want to buy the same laptop from dell showroom,along with Windows 7 OS.

the one on ebay comes up with dos only.

39400 for windows 7. i would suggest go to www.dell.co.in and check out the listings according to specs. also i would suggest you could go for an i3 processor instead of i5. it would suffice and you could cut down on cost significantly.

I need a laptop mainly for gaming upto 50k. Will this configuration be sufficient?

Intel i5 2.8 ghz
1 gb ati card(550) or a Nvidia card.
4 gb ram

will this be sufficient and will it come under my budget. Please suggest

i am preferably looking for dell

can you tell me which games will you be playing and at what setting so that i can give you a perfect choice.

open to online purchase - as you can see flipkart and ebay have proved terrific online sites to purchase from.i personally have purchased 2 laptops from ebay and very very satisfied.write here whether you are open to online purchase.

size - is portability a factor or you wont mind a workhorse? lemme know here,11",13",15" your basic size.

upgrade - how many years do you plan to use this and when will your next upgrade be.

i usually say Call of Duty- Series, Crysis, gears of war,CS, Fifa etc.
I dont have any particular games in my list. I just pick up the popular titles. And I mostly play them at default settings.

I am not really a expert or hardcore gamer, just a casual one.

Can you advice me how to set the settings for best effects and performance. Also please suggest some new games.

Do you have a blog or something like that I can follow?

Can u suggest me a good laptop...i want one on which i can play games like call of duty,gta,just cause, and other heavy games easily....also should be sturdy,not many problems and good after sales service,won't like too many visits to the store in between my mba...would like a 1 gb graphics card and an i3 processor atleast with windows 7....budget is less than 40000. Thanks in advance.

increase ur budgt slightly. go for insprion 15r: corei5, 4 gb ram, 500 gb hdd, 1 gb ati graphics,windows 7, 15 months mcafee,1 year complete cover warranty-- rs. 42800 inclusive of all taxes n delivery charges

or u cn go for HP g62 laptop-- core i3,3 gb ram,320 gb hdd, windows7, 1 gb ati grpahics-- Rs.36500

the inspiron is for you buddy.its very sturdy and has a great finish.best thing is its very relaible and if you are looking for say 3 to 4 years you can always get the extra warranty from dell when you purchase it.also the warranty is onsite so no issues there.

inspiron 1564 is an outdated model and only available on ebay.. the new inspiron 15r is model no. N5010... so b cautious buyn d old model

go for dell. samsung aint good in aftr sales service fr laptops. dts wot i believe.

^^The xps 15 you plan to take has a outdated processor which has already been replaced with the new sandy bridge processor by dell and the updated laptops are already out in US.In india they are going to be available in a month barring any delays.so basically if you buy that xps you are paying for something which will give you very similar performance to the one i have mentioned.bottom line if you are spending 50 odd k only do take a updated laptop with sandy bridge but here patience is the key.if you cannot wait than take the one i recommended it can more than suffice your needs.

kindly check dell india website. xps 15 are already availble with the latest intel 2nd gen processors aka sandy bridge technology...

from dell showroom , d latest model inspiron 15r (n5010) dos model with i3,3gb ram, 320 gb hard drive would cost you Rs. 31900

Inspiron 15r: i3,3gb ram, 320 gb hdd, windows 7 home premium, 15 months mcafee .. for Rs. 34900

these are the prices available for same day delivery at dell outlets

@ don draper: inspiron 1564 is the outdated model.. the new model of inspiron 15r in referred to as N5010 (inspiron 15r)

see. every person has its own set of experience with every brand. in nutshell every brand has some short comings and some very good features.
Hp had some heating issues earlier. now they have a whole new range and doin perfectly fine . in dell u will get the same config as of hp g62 arnd 38000. u cn see dt also

the new model isnt upto the benchmark standard mate.are they using sandybridge processors? i am trying to check but finding it difficult to open them on my tablet.can you post the full specs ?

xps 15 are available with sandy bridge processors.
they i3 2310 processor, and i5 2410 processors. as u knw dell laptops are customizable ,there are diffrnt configs. teme wich one u require, i l specify u d quote for dat
p.s. inspirons wud b available with 2nd gen processor from next tuesday hopefully

guys anyone having a budget of 50 k would recommend you to take the sandybridge xps.the given inspiron i have suggested will suffice the needs anyways.also if possible take from ebay as youw ills ave a lot of cash in comparison to dell.

i have heard the xps has some heating issues.one of my friend has bought it and her latop has crashed twice in one month.I was personally very keen on buying a studio laptop but it seems its out of the market.is da xps a suitable alternative.pls suggest.
