Actually I am not looking for gaming mainly. I just want best configuration Laptop which has latest features. I liked the dell xps series but I want i5 processor and in xps its above 50k. About Lenovo I dont know much but i checked the y560 you suggested and i find it good but again the i5 processor is above 50k. Vaio is a brand name and this attracts me and the model i liked has all the features and is in my budget but only problem is its 15.6" and i want a 14" screen because its easy to handle it. Can we customize in VAIO too ?
WAIT for a week .. u hv i3,i5 &i7; 2nd generation processor lined up in every company. by next week u cn a expct a whole new range of 2nd gen processors (some have eve been launched) u cnt pre customise a vaio laptop. VAIO laptops are not Built to Order. chk out HP g4 and dm4 series .
Puys want to buy a laptop soon and I was checking various models and configuration and than got stuck at Dell xps and Vaio E series model ! My budget is 50k.
Here is the sony vaio E series model which i liked and want to buy ! puys please check out and tell me is any other model of dell or any other company better than this in same range ?
wait for new processors to b launched nxt week. u alrdy hv 2nd gen processor launched for Dell xps15. spare parts for vaio wd burn a hole in ur pocket. Original Battery for E series costs an approx of Rs.7500 and a charger for Rs. 5500 whereas it is quiet cheap in other brands, plus the service for sony vaio is not on site. u l hav to tke it to the service centr to gt it repaired

Hi there,
Am using Dell Inspiron 15.6', 1 gb graphics card, i5, 500 gb hdd, 4 gb ram etc etc.. bought it at 40,500. Have finished playing Black Ops on it..and spend at least 30 mins playing fifa 11 in the current honeymoon period of ours (before joining a b school).
Pros: 1. Budget laptop 2. Gives you enough bang for the buck viz the graphics card, RAM etc. 3. comes in cool colors ( i got blue :P)
Cons: The lappie gets heated a bit when u play games so make sure the laptop's positioning is good (u mustn't keep it on bed or your lap ) and it will be a good buy.
Other than this, I found most of the other lappies in the market (about 2-3 months back) either costlier or low on config...

Choose well,

thanx bro but can you point out the difference between an xps laptop with same configuration and your inspiron i have seen there website but xps is much costlier and i cant figure out why
Get the 9-cell battery instead of normal 6 cell, if the money is not a constraint for you, it will be really handy.. It does increase the battery capacity by almost 50%...

Hardware used in XPS is better than that of inspiron... Specially Hinges.. Also some of the softwares perform better with XPS hardware (informed by DELL people). Its more sturdy and have less heating problem.. Long life..

u can always go to their website for details, but afair, the diff mainly was in the JBL speakers, better improved 2nd gen processors etc etc... basically good for ppl who want better punch in gaming, but remember, it will still generate a lot of heat.. and is a bit bulky as the inspiron 15' ... so for guys who have to carry it daily to classes, mite not be a 'very' good idea.. just a suggestion.
Guys,
One suggestion for whoever buying dell laptop..

true, but almost every feature on these machines come with a tradeoff.. the 9-cell battery does increase the battery life but also makes it a lot more bulkier.. So as the saying goes- "Ek to bail (buffalo) upar se hao (shepherd's yell to stop movin 😛 ) " - add the 9 cell only if u think ur okay with the added weight, and need those extra one hour or so of battery life really badly.. 😃
hey i am thinking of buying a laptop having LINUX operating sytem preinstalled. then i will install a pirated copy of windows in my laptop. it will save me easy 6000 bucks. will there be any problem?
there will be no problem other than you will not be able to get windows updated and over time your system will become sluggish.(if you get a genuine crack then it is a different story)

Windows comes pre-installed on laptops by the way.....
no some laptops come with free linux and dos also

go for Dell xps 15 , evalue code u540403in8 quick specs. corei7 (2nd gen) 4gb ram 750 gb hdd 1 gb nvidia graphics windows 7 home premium for the difference btwn xps and isnpiron , plz refr to my previous post 😃
nvidia or ati? how much difference it would make as we are going to use them on laptop's 15" screen and not big high definition screens
see, nvidia and ati are 2 diffrnt manufacturing companies . See the model no. of graphics card dey r givn to compare dem. for bench marking of graphics card , kindly refer to notebookcheck.com.
AND also, xps laptops come with hard drives @ 7200 rpm . hard drives at higher rpm rates wud fetch u data faster rather than traditional ones at 5400 rpm. u l c dt it makes a huge difference. mayb dis wud hlp u in decision making 😃

it is all a pr game. nvidea has tie ups with leading game manufacturers so we see "the way it is meant to be played" logo ati is the underdog favored by gamers on desktop same as amd vs intel story nvidea doesn't heat much while ati is powerful
so no major diff between ati & nvidia for us general gamers but for hardcore gamers ....
I purchased a 14" lappy 4 years back, whereas all of my friends bought a 15" one. And I am still happy that I bought a 14'' one for the following reasons:
1. Definitely much more comfortable to carry around than 15", not only becoz of light weight but much compact dimensions. 2. 50% better battery life. Might seem an exaggeration, but yes, this is the case. It has been four years, I haven't changed my battery and it still gives a backup of 30-40 minutes.(I use my laptop pretty much throughout the day) 3. Wouldn't realize any difference in watching movies or gaming vis-a-vis a 15" one.
IMHO, buying a 14" laptop has only advantages over buying a 15" laptop.
