Well, here's my two bit; i5 and i7 are made using pretty much the same technology as i3, its just more processors and running at a higher clock speed, so if you plan to run games which require more horse power, i suggest that you go for an i5 at the very least and some laptop which has a graphics card. My bro brought one from Dell last week:
i5 - 2.4 ghz
Ati HD56xx - 1 gig
500 Gb hard drive
the contraption cost him around 45k.

About the heating issue, all laptops inevitably run into heating issues because of the dust being accumulated and using conditions and so on, this can be taking care of by regular servicing and cleaning and using a laptop cooller.
Do feel free to PM me if you have anything to ask about this.

HP laptops dont heat up. Its a Entertainment Notebook, If you will use it for hardcore gaming then you cannot blame HP. Buy dual fan and better heatsink laptops from ASUS or DELL XPS or Alienware series. HP Pavillion Notebooks are not for gaming, they are just provided with a stock HP fan for normal load uses.

are Dell Inspiron i5 laptops with 1gb graphic card decent when it comes to gaming ?? i mean eventually laptops are not best for gaming but still whats the point of playing a game when the laptop would just shutdown in sometime

Inspiron is a low End series from DELL i would rather advise for for HP pavillion, Coz its very true that DELL provides not so good looking screens than HP pavillion and Inspiron isnt that good a series as you have asked for hardcore use.
If you are a little budget friendly go for these models will be very good for you.
Try this Laptop from MSI
GT640
GE600
GT660

These are some really awesome total gaming laptops with very good cooling systems. You dont have to worry much about cooling in them.

What is the starting range of laptop of Apple And Asus??

Apple is not for gaming coz thats the only thing MACs dont have. Its only a good overall software bundle for entertainment and work combined with awesome looks..
Starting range of Apple is around 70 thousand and above.

ASUS are on the other hand really growing and are known for great cooling systems in reviews so i wud prefer them for gaming.

Here is a 3D laptop from ASUS

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - G51Jx 3D

You can get it from SMC international in New Delhi
You can get it easily in Pune. Just go to some Stores like Croma should not be a problem
You will not get any corporate discount through dealers. The only way to get that is by ordering online. You will be connected to a sales manager. Just tell them the comapany you work in. If the company has tie-up with Dell, you can get the discount.
To prove your association with the company, you need to send a confirmation mail from the company E-mail Id to the sales manager. Even if your company doesnt have a tie-up, sales managers can give a discount of 1-2%, again depends on how much you can negotiate!

I got 8% discount as I was working in Infosys. :D

Hope it helps!!

Yeah dats true, i also availed the 8% discount
U can evn buy in the name of a person whose company is in their list (yeah dey have a list of corporates), I bought mine in the name of my sister. Buying in another person's name has hardly any effect....

What's the big diference between Laptop and Notebook? I think its "Laptop minus CD ROM". Are some other features excluded? Is this notebook thing okay for MBA and the proffesional needs after MBA?

just go to some showroom n try hands on exp of 10inch screen... i thnk such portablity is needed fr only ppl who are always on run.. e.g. national/regional sales managers.. who travel most time of the year... (almost evry alternate day)..

10" screen vl also make difficult to work fr too long on it... puts too strain on eyes...

you want lite wt thn 13" are good too.. with good config...
