Hi puys..

I am planning to buy dell laptop ...and have one doubt

There are saying delivery charges extra.the total value of my laptop is 35515 INR.

Please let me know how much there can charge.

If any body knows anybody in dell please let me know and if you know any numbers pls tell....so that i can contact them

Delivery changes is Rs.900 ( fixed , anywhere in India).

delivery charges is rs 900 as quoted by our friend.
but to neautralise those delivery chages ask for some sort of discount as corporate or student or central govt employee and u'l get 3 percent discount

nd for other puys if they are optin for studio laptops discounts wud be 5 percent
nd both in studio as well inspiron if u buy 3 years complete cover warranty u'l get 8% discount on a whole

while the same configuration is available at 37k in Dell Inspiron..
Now how do I explain my parents about the difference...
Also, among Dell Inspiron and SOny Vaio.. which one shud I prefer ( configuration being almost same )

A lot depends on wat u going for. If ur focus is short term plz go for inspirion. Studio is all bout quality. It is robust and is suposed to serve u longer and better than inspirion. so its ur call. can u shell out 10k for buying quality and robustness and better design? as for vaio... i think both are good but vaio is a bit better... But den in future wen ur lappy needs service, sony will make a bigger hole in ur pocket; bigger than dell at least... my vote is for studio... its worth its price if u can appreciate its value... inspirion is safe anyway... so u need to answer if u wanna play safe or play jolly? my advice: keep vaio outta consideration. dell is known for its services.

The same config in Vaio will cost u more than the Inspiron, i guess.So between the two if you want to save some money..go for Inspiron. If u want to go for somewhat better quality + looks Vaio edges out inspiron.
Dell Studio otherwise is a very good option.i own one and its really cool.(Strictly my opinion).It has a better motherboard than that of Inspiron and its reviews regarding heat problems and battery life are somewhat better than Inspiron.

Can anybody explain how much difference it is between 6 Cell and 9 cell battery for Dell? Its costing around 1500/- more. Some people say that 9 Cell battery is added externally in the Laptop and is not very comfortable while working in Lap. Also how much wieght increases after 9 cell battery?

@ shedding hope - Sony Vaio has a more trendy look and is generally lighter to carry around than Dell Inspirons. Else, in terms of performance Dell and Vaio are both fine.

Just looking the pics you cannot judge the screen size. Visit your nearest Dell Showroom , ya its a bit troublesome but surely you don't want to repent later for wrong decision. It seems you are in Chennai, there are many showrooms for Dell.

it is as comfortable as ny thing don worry
the only difference is that its comin out a lil bit out of lappy
bt dat wont create ny trouble

battery lyf wud increase b 90-100 min.
weight will increase a bit dunnoe how much bt 9 cell battery is only available wid inspiron in 15 inch only n in both the models of studio
if u go 4 studio 14 and 9 cell baterry then the weight wud be comparatively lower

14r is not so small bt 15.6 wud b gud wen comin to watchin movies.
and also 15.6 has numeric keypad which is not in 14r that can b used in excel sheets

NO way 14 screen is perfect in look and its easier to view
15 inch is a big bulky one (looks as if we are looking in a tv set!)

puys.. am using 15.6 inch AMD processor HP laptop.. so a suggestion fro me.. dont go for 15 inch.. go for 14 or 13 inch.. and dont go for AMD processor.. whatever they say its heating up alot.. especially while playing high end games.. so better to try Intel processors(even though i dont know the case)..

Are there any showrooms for exclusively for DELL in Delhi?

I am from Kolkata,and there is no online delivery system here.
And no Dell showrooms in Kol too, so no possibility of cusomization i guess :-(

Am going for FORE ,so was thinking of buying it from Delhi itself if there were any showrooms there.

Dude u can customise on the Dell India site itself or call a dell agent and tell him your requirements.u get a better deal when u do so.From a showroom u may not be able to avail some discount.(not sure,jst confirm waise)
