I jus bought a Dell studio 15 for 48100 from online store after a lot of research,payment by credit card

I got 5% discount offer

guys when your buying online if you nudge the sales representative for more discounts and freebies they do offer you after some old fashioned bargaining. My sales rep was very helpful if u guys want his no jus send me a pm

My Dell originaly was costing around 52K but after lot of bargaining and nudging him for freebies

2k gone for vat and 2k in discount offer
he gave me an offer of 48100 with free earphones and mouse

- studio has 2 mp camera ...inspiron has around 1.2 i guess
- studio has 2 earphone ports ...so 2 people can see movie or hear songs together on the lappy

Nevertheless unless your more into movies an inspiron is a decent bet as well

i3 i5 and i7 are better than core 2 duo.Eg. i3-330M has hyper-threading which means that even though it is a dual core processor it has 4 threads, so it has 2 virtual cores as well as 2 physical. It also has more cache so it will be quicker for all those everyday tasks.Also i series consumes lesser power and dispenses less heat because they use 32NM technology instead of 45NM.i7 has four cores and 6MB cache.i3 and i5 have 3MB cache.
As a rough outline, DDR3 runs at higher clocks and lower voltages due to a more complex 90nm manufacturing process.So they're faster and consume less power.

With this budget in Dell u can go for -
Dell Inspiron 15 R (Has a 1gb gfx card) in both i3 and i5 models.
Dell Studio ( but dnt think it will have a 500Gb HDD).Maybe u can talk to the dealer and get it customised and also try for some rebate.

i strongly feel that u should go for i7.
i5 , i3 are same on most of the specifications.
Both are dual core..

But i7 is a quad core processor...
Its the best for sure.
512mb card is more thn enuf with such a superb processor.

3.neways how much more or less is the service and parts cost of mac compared to sony??

as for differences of camera being 1.3 not 1.2 if u had read my post clearly i hav written around 1.2 since i dint knw the exact point figure

differences of earphone which can b changed and speaker et al what u have mentioned etc...whatever it may b whether new R series is bought or new attachments bought from dealers

but these differences are there betn da traditional studio n inspiron...

i was only toking about the inbuilt differences betn a stud n inspi as tol to me by the dell guy...cuz dat way a lot of differences betn da 2 can b changed by customizing inspi or buying hardware replacements from stores

Mac supports almost all things U have MAc office2008 which has all Word Excel ,PPT,etc
Parts Of MAC are a bit costlier compared to Sony

I am not a gamer kind of person..may be a little..
