I am planning to buy Dell Inspirion 14R with the normal config as below:-
Intel Core i3-330M Processor (2.13Ghz, 4Threads, 3M cache)
Genuine Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit (English)
McAfee Security Center (Multi-Language) - 30-Day Trial Version
Microsoft Works (Including Microsoft Home and Student 60 Days Trial Pre-installed)
2 Year Complete Cover Accidental Damage Protection
2GB (1 X 2 GB) 1 DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz
320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive
12.7" SATA Tray Load DVD+/-RW
Intel HD Graphics (India)
For me this config will work as I am not gaming freak and probably will not be working with some high end software applications which generally requires more space or causes some performance issues..
Initially i planned to go for 1 Year Complete Cover Accidental Damage Protection but now i have changed my mind to go complete 2 Year Complete Cover Accidental Damage Protection...
Read below reviews about the cost asssociated with Extended Warranty and post warranty, services are really poor and perhaps can cost u a lot...

If you can put 5k more you will get 2gb Ram and 180 gb hardisk extra which is a good bargain for the money and will releive you from the FUTURE TENSION AS WELL.
5k might save you from worries 2/ 3 years down the line.

guys the answer to this query is
Complete accedental covers evrything except loss by fire and theft (but battery has its standard warrant of 1 yr)
n in the remote diagnosis one dey will only take their mechanical defects
bt in my opinion acedental cover is better bcoz if anything goes wrong n u have to pay foe thata den dats vry expensive for lappies as compared to cover
its like a insurance of ur lappi

I am looking to buy a laptop with good configuration in the range of 40k.
I checked with Dell and they are providing me the below mentioned config for Rs 44000/-
and they are not giving any further discount or free accessory.:-(
Please go through it and advice me how best should I bargain and ask for any further discount.
Or also please advice any other models or option that I can look fwd to in the similar price range.:)

Thanks dude..vil surely check the deal with my agent..actually mouse and the hedaset vil cost me arnd 600-700 bucks only...accessories frm dell are nice as they are discounted very well....and the headset m talking bout is alone worth arnd 1000 bucks originally...

bro i thnk u knws only hlf part of this schem. I cnfrmd with ma agent this schem is valid only on the purchase of 48k + laptops.

In DELL it's not possible they restricted such a model.
VAIO has it at 45k but with HD 320gb.
I want to buy laptop with budget of around 40k and bit stylish looks and better performance

I bought a Sony Vaio E-Series machine VPCEB14EN/BI ...config - Intel Core i3 processor, 3gb DDR3 RAM, 320GB HardDisk, windows 7 home basic, 512MB ATI Radeon 5470 graphics , 15.6" screen...I got it at 38,490Rs. with some goodies including optical mouse, cleaning kit, cooling pad etc.
On-site warranty.. i asked the dealer and he said you will have to carry it to Sony service centre, so i guess there is no on-site warranty.. 1 yr default warranty on the laptop..and 2 yr extended can be purchase at 3,499Rs. extra

Not sure about all brands , but the Sony Vaio has stopped givin OS CD's but they have a hidden partition inside the hard disk from where you can burn the CD's for future use..I guess even Dell has started doing the same...tho not sure of Dell...
