[2020-2022] [Official] SIBM Pune Admissions

@freebull

Continue checking the My Mails tab, and calling the technical department at the number I mentioned a few comments ago. You can send in a mail to the Aspirant Relations Team with your SNAP ID and payment details, and we could try and check if the same has been cleared. We can assure you that the payments made up to the 8th of October (mistakes-free) have been cleared. Don't get panicky, just continue the above-mentioned efforts, and the issue will be sorted.

Hi seniors. Thanks for all the prompt replies. Has been really helpful. I have a few queries.
1. Does experience play any part in the selection process ? (For eg: If 2 candidates have the same score after SNAP score, GD & PI will the candidate with more experience be at an advantage?)
2. Also any ideas on how to prepare for the General Awareness section?
3. Is it true that there are no sectional cut offs in SNAP
1. If two candidates have the same score after SNAP, GD & PI, chances are that both will get selected or both rejected depending on whether their score is above or below the cut-off. There is no extra brownie points awarded to a person having work-ex after the overall score is calculated.

2. For General Awareness you should read newspapers daily and there are a lot of websites which provide the gist of all major news that happened in a particular year. I would also suggest you to be aware of full form of the acronyms of major organisations across the globe. Apart from this, just try and register anything and everything that you see around you including advertisements, movies, sports etc.

3. Yes, there is no sectional cut-offs for SIBM in SNAP score..! so work on your strengths! :)

If you've seen the movie Bodyguard, you must've seen SIBM Pune's scenic Lavale campus. An advertisement for Campus Shoes, shot in our campus :)

Hi

I registered for SIMB pune last month. Juat today I noticed that the at the end of the application form there is a place for student's signature declaring the authenticity of the details provided. I hope this does not mean I have to send this application to SIBM pune, its not mentioned anywhere. Just wanted to confirm.

@shalinisinha
You don't need to send in a filled form by post. The details in the form get recorded online.
@DanRay once u have filled up the form, uske baad kuchh karna nahi hai na? i mean we dnt need to send anything to sibm rite?

@DanRay thank you!
@audiq7
Nahin, yaar. Bas ab online form bhara aur paisa de diya, toh sirf padhai baki rahi. Aadha kaam ho gaya.

guys please tell me what is the weightage of 10th , 12th , experience , snap score etc for getting admission to SIBM pune...

and please tell me is it a negative point for me if i have done my graduation through distance learning ??
@ankitarao There has historically been no specific weightage for school and graduations marks for getting a GD/PI call from SIBM Pune. You just have to pass the minimum eligibility criteria. If you clear the SNAP cut-off, you get a call. Then, the work-ex, marks, etc are usually an embedded part of the PI process though they don't have a quantifiable weightage.

Regarding distance education, I don't think it's really a negative point. Just present and package yourself well irrespective of what your profile is.
@VenkataramanR thanks dear :)

To all the aspirants

When it comes to GK,only reading newspaper will never suffice.

Register to IAS entrance exam websites like Jagran Josh

I used CL's GK material,which I think is really exhaustive.

TIME magazines are also excellent

SNAP has been evolving & last year it really surprized us when it comes to GK.

So do read about recent monetary & fiscal changes,world politics,etc etc.

Remember,GK is the game changer.

It worked with me.

I will try my best to help you all.

All the best for your preparation & happy reading

@nickel29 thanks dear for sharing it with everyone..
am preparing for GK from T.I.M.E magazines and Pratityogita Darpan... would it suffice ?
@ankitarao Apart from the magazines you mentioned, also follow the GK thread on Pagalguy.
@nickel29 In the context of GK, I would say also focus on ET, since most business & economy news are covered by it but as mentioned, try reading from different sources, you could read magazines like Pratyogita Darpan for compact coverage on all areas, plus Hindu for social aspects. But try to focus more on events related to business, finance, economy, etc & some basic financial & economic concepts as well

@ankitarao

I think it is sufficient.But please be regular.You can't master GK in 1 week

Static GK can be mastered in 1 week though

@mrinalkvbr

Fair point.But I have already passed these barriers...:)

I am just trying to help the aspirants

can any one mail me GK material please !!!!

@nickel29 i have manorama yearbook... is it useful for snap ? there are almost 14 different topics in this book... if you can tell me which all topics in the book are useful that would be great..
