well for Ar/dm a score of 8 wud hav given u 85 r so.....i according to the keys was gettin frm 11-13...i ended up gettin 97.05%ile
last year's Ar/dm was really tough..it is my fav section so i could score well
in Qa i scored 3.5-4
ended up getting 68%ile(dis was d one wich sank my XAt) 
a score of 9 wud hav given you 90..my friend got 18.5 n scored 99.99In Va i was scorin 11 in all keys n ended up gettin 91%ile so a score of 11 was the cut off
on total i scored 93.5 ..my score was probably in the 26-29 range...
der r varying cutoff's for BM n PMIR...for BM u need high quant i.e 90 low VA(84)
for PMIR u need high VA(90) n low Quant(85)

What was the %ile sectional as well as overall for getting a PM-IR and BM call from XL RI in XAT 2010 ?
I picked these from last yrs thread, these are approximate but can give you a fair idea about cutoffs
AR/DM- Any score of 8+ was 90%ile, as a score of 8 was equal to 89.xx
QA/DI - A score of 9.5-10 was equal to 92%ile i.e the cutoff
VA - There were a lot of variations with the keys, but you can safely assume that a 10+ score was enough for even PMIR
OA-Percentile
30 - 98
35 - 99
40 - 99.6
45 - 99.9
Someone aiming at only BM should try to maximize their QA score as the cutoffs for QA in the last 2 yrs have gone up to as high as 92-94.5, while the other 2 sections have been around 90%ile
Hey, Thanks a ton for this. Can you please also tell what were the overall scores of 90+ percentiles? e.g Total score for 90, 92,94,96 percentile? Ofcourse they can be found out by doing a bit of calculation and approxiamation but then also overall score for 90 and 94 percentile will certainly help. As I have given XAT 2010 in my home and wanted to check my would be percentile?

I was just going through the thread when I found this post on Page 5 which I am posting so you can have your answer. By the way the cut-off are mentioned on XLRI site because I remember that I saw them.
XAT 2010 had three sections `Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VA), `Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA) and `Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making Ability (AR).
For Personnel Management and Industrial Relations Programme around 650 applicants having more than 92.60 percentile in VA, 80.36 percentile in QA, 84.36 percentile in RA, and overall 95.03 percentile have been shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
For Business Management Programme around 550 applicants having more than 90.13 percentile in VA, 91.31 percentile in QA, 90.01 percentile in RA, and overall 98.02 percentile have been shortlisted for Personal Interview.

hi guys, i applied for xat and xlri on the 30th of november by using the dd option. i submitted both the forms on the 30th itself. on the 1st i mailed them the pp and pa forms for xat and xlri respectively. i have been checking the status of my application form regulary and it shows " ur application is still under processing" . guys was i too late to register? will my application be considered? have u guys faced any such issues?
i m a medico by profession & hence bit weak in mathematics.....I skipped a few chapters in CAT too...viz.coordinate geometry, functions n graphs, trigo, progressions, etc.....will i have to study these chapters necessarily for XAT? any oder chapters do i have to look into specifically for XAT apart from d syllabus of CAT? i mean any higher mathematics chapters???

Higher Maths syllabus in itself is twice that of normal maths that is asked. At this moment, just let it pass away from your mind.
However, I would advise you to do at least some chapters for XAT like functions, coordinate geometry, progression, percentages and related. In my opinion the only chapter that has not been asked in comparison to CAT is Number System. There is hardly 1-2 question every year from that, so I believe you can breath easy.
Be warned that XAT is a paper full of surprises, the best strategy is to have a good base of topics in which you are very strong. Last year, DI was very tough and probably it may be easier, it may not, you can prepare for that too.

Last year there was too much controversy about the VA keys. Almost every key differed from the other and there were 5-6 questions no one was sure of. As they don't provide raw scores or keys, one cannot say that the VA cut-off was 11. I was expecting 12 in VA and ended up with a 95.17%ile in the section. In XAT 2009, the VA cut-off was around 93-94 for PMIR if I am not wrong. So, it all depends on how many candidates they want to call and how the scores come out to be :)
For QA and ARDM, I think a two-digit score should be good enough to make the cut. An overall score of above 35-36 should get a call according to last few years' trends.
@rohitpal: Even my application is under processing 😐 Had submitted it on the 29th. Lets hope they come out with it soon.

Puys how are u planning to score a good %ile in QA.....
I gave a try to QA section of both 2010 (got 10.5 in 40 mins) and 2009 (only a 4 in 41 mins :banghead::banghead::banghead: ).....
I want to know from the QA champs and those who have scored heavily in this section of XAT (may be last year or mocks) as to what should be an ideal strategy to come up with a good score in this section on any given day.....
Accuracy is needed for sure...but any specific material to prepare for the kind of QA and DI (calculation intensive) they ask......
Any link or some material would be a great help....thnx in advance....
P.S.:- I am not good at PnC and probability so I always tend to leave them unless they are easy....

I have applied on the same date, as you have done ,and in my case also it is showing it is under processing. So, probably we should just wait.

Its nt an issue...i called the XAT adm offc 2day...u guys do 1 thng...call the admn offc n confirm whether they have received ur app or not...if they have...then its nt necessary 4 it to appear at the app status page.
hey bro!! don't worry. i was facing similar troubles. i had mailed the documents on the 29th of nov only. but i get the same reply when i check my status.. finally today, i cld the admin office of xat and they said it will take another 2-3 days to update the information... so relax and try after 2-3 days.:grin::grin::grin:

Hi puys...
I couriered my applications for XAT and XLRI on 25th November via BlueDraft and I had bought the forms on the 18th of November.
I got a confirmation from BlueDraft itself that they has been received on 26th November..
However I have yet to get any message or email from XAT authorities..
and have heard many people have..
all this is worrying me.. have u people also received your admit cards or anything??
