When i entered the hall was so happy seeing all the cute smiling faces.. 
When i got the paper i was eager as everyone in the hall to start before the bell...
Alas! the bell rings i open the sheet... saw the QA part... for 20 mins i was trying to guess whether is there any option which says "CAN't be solved" ! DI was yak!! untouchable..
Went to English section, my god it seemed to me that are they going to give part marks if we attempt any question. Man it was damn tough.. but the grammar will save a lot of people...
LR & DM : what were the people thinking before preparing this kind of a paper...
I think they have already reserved 80% of there seats for Management quota because maximum will not even be able to attempt even 30% of the paper...
Irony was that there were some questions carrying 5 marks.. if someone gets 1 or 2 of these correct then the surely have a chance to crack the paper... but getting it wrong by mistake can take away the chance from you to even make the cut...
Overall a horrible, pathetic, intolerable paper...
All the XAT takers R.I.P ....

guys gave xat today the question paper was abit tricky and took some time initially.....after the 1st 15 minutes of anxiety it was a decent affair...attempted around 70 questions from all the sections put togather but the time wasnt enough though

I have registered online for XLRI and XAT.
I got the prospectus for only XAT, not for XLRI - gave the paper today - no problems with the Admit Card - it was updated properly with the details I gave.
I am really worried that since they have not sent me the prospectus for XLRI, does this mean that they may not have taken my application for XLRI?
XAT - Baap of all exams!! 
I had several strategies in mind regarding this paper. But to my surprise xat ne sab choor choor kar diya 
There was this stupid invigilator in our room who dint even know in what sequence the papers were to be distributed.
He distributed and took back and then again distributed.. this went on for three times.. A**!
And then the amazing thing on the first bell he asked everyone to start (and it was before the time lol) after ten minutes, the senior guy came in and scolded him big time and asked us to close our papers and wait for the next bell to start Hahaha... everyone was laughing off their A*****..
Okay enough of the jokes.. i started with VA moving on to LR and dint notice the time that i was left with only half an hour 
What a state of mind was i in that i dint track my time and was thinking i still have an hour to go when there was just 25 minutes left and the whole QA section... My hands started shivering... somehow i started and question after question i was just reading and biting my nails wth.. 
Questions hil ni rahe the somehow i managed few questions (very few)..

last year it was very correct .. near to plus/minus 3%... its from testfunda which gives comparison of times education/career launher/ims etc.. so just go for it and get you percentile score with cutoffs :)

Appreciate that XAT hasn't tried to lower down its level where everyone else has stooped lower than we ever expected when "sub-optimization" and ability to take an exam 14 times seems to be the order of the day.
Ofcourse when sub-optimality doesn't work, degeneration surely does.
XAT is by far the best management exam in the country because it has atleast things in the paper which still need to be "managed" and are not predetermined since 2 years. India needs XAT and only if more XLRIs opened, given the way XAT exams are conducted, they would very easily overtake the IIMs given the standard of CAT papers today. Its a mystery why XLRI never revamped up its structure and opened up more B-Schools in India when it easily could have done it (XLRI itself needs some revamping too). It would have been a service to the country. From now onwards, Students who get in the 95-99+ in xat should actually be very proud of themselves and clearly say that they are better, the companies should realise the same.
India needs XAT. Hope it stays the same and comes up to surprise everyone each and every year, keeping the spirit of a true Indian MBA exam alive. I ofcourse didn't take XAT this year but I have done it for 2 years and have always believed it to be the better exam and this year too, it has kept that trend alive. If a management exam doesn't surprise you then it shouldn't be called a management exam but a mismanagement exam (but that title, as I had faced, has been copyrighted by anti-merit and co since last year)
You can't be a fool and crack XAT, you can be a fool and crack every other management exam in India :)
The beauty of questions in XAT in English, Logic, Quant and DM just leaves the a very smart student fall in love with it. I still remember exemplifying satire in one xat English paper, I remember solving some 3-4 XAT quants problem visually-which could have been solved by pure higher math as well and ofcourse DM dilemmas make me miss XAT :)
-I heard there was a poem this year 😃 All those who love reading and not the ones who have started reading just because of CAT/XAT
-You can do Math all you want but unless your fundamentals are super clear, XAT is not for you.
-The caselets were from 1st year MBA -> Workers Union, Mergers and Acquisitions (finance sirs?) and differential discounting of airplanes. All the caselets are real life scenarios that managemers are suppose to deal with.
-Quant was well spread between geometry, arithmatic, numbers and higher math. All relevant topics for mba.
-codes were there, bars, lines, composite, tables and arrangements problems were there...
Again all relevant for mba.
-XAT passages were from the Toyota Way (TQM), The meaning of Being and Fermi's pradox. All 3 one would know if they naturally read science, philosophy and management literature. These are the kind of men and women xat wants to pick up and rightly so :)
-Essay/Argumentation "The statesman who should attempt to direct private people in what manner they ought to employ their capitals would not only load himself with unnecessary attention but assume an authority which could safely be trusted to no council and senate and which be nowhere be so dangerous as in the hands of a man who had folly and presumption enough to fancy himself fit to exercise it." 😁 - You beauty You :P, Most guys would fumble understanding the meaning of the essay itself, its so beautiful that it makes me want to cry :P
The idea is you can't get a fluke in XAT, neither can you qualify it by studying overnight and cramping concepts and read English in just 7 days or 7 months. XAT papers enables XLRI to take in students who naturally excel at XAT type questions.
I don't know who picks up and makes these questions and sets the paper pattern but who ever these guys are know their game way too well.
To the guys and girls who understand the value of preparing well and to the guys who understand the value of not preparing but being smart enough to crack XAT, may God bless you both and help you prosper in life. Remember if you cracked XAT, then you are already a manager by aptitude, the attitude part XLRI would be more than happy to fill in :grin:

The answer is 40. There are 2 values of x that can be found. one is 34 and other is 6. So the sum is 40.. sorry i misread the question earlier.. you need to use the property that median lies between mean and mode..

Its a DS question in XAT. All keys are giving answer E. But i got answer A. Can you guys help in getting solution of it.

So both statements don give correct answer

then we can get sum of these.. wat u say.. A is rite in this case... by choice 1 answer is there...
