hi all.. scored only 97.9 perctile with a 74percentile in GA but still managed to get a BM call.. i wud like to know if the percentile matters at this stage!! from wat i've seen so far think i'm the fresher with the least overall percentile to have made it to BM.. Plz lemme know if i'm on par with the rest or not!

I know we cannot change the course or interview centre but I have doubt regarding other information.
I have received my sem results 2 days back. So updated them in the website, where it was succesful. But I have a doubt wether they will be taken into consideration. Can anyone please clarify on this since I also had to add my strenths and weakness.

not sure...depends on whether they hav take print-out of ur online forms...i guess someone else had posted about not filling up the stuff... i guess it's not a big issue..give them some proper reason in case they ask u abt it....

now that u hav got a call..ur at par with others...u give a grt interview ur thru...unless there is some specific weigtage assigned to each stage in the process...which is doubt coz last yr lot's of ppl with lesser percentiles hav got thru...so just chilll n give it ur best shot

XL doesn't hav any gd's...just personal interviews....had similar profile as u hav...the panel may ask u about current projects that ur involved in...about ur company...current IT scenario in india....ur opinion abt outsourcing...ur interview might b a stress or non stress one....but how does it matter...no point in bothering abt it...coz it's not in ur hands anyway...even if it's a stress interview...don't crack under pressure coz evryone else going to that panel would be getting grilled in the same manner...and yes...lots of ppl who had stress interviews last year hav made it to xl...
Can u please inform us about the finance specialisation in XLRI.Can i tell them i am really interested in finance so that i can take the interview to my strengthness.
u can always mention it in ur interview....abt ur interest in finance...but be ready to handle qns in finance....abt latest happenings in the sector...mergers and acquisitions(oracle peoplesoft).....reliance fiasco...effect on share prices etc etc...

dinup,having_identity_crisis,jatinbakshi, dce621, cat_as_trophe - Could you please let me know the kind of interview questions that are asked for the next stage?
The questions can range from anything from your acads to GK to your essay to carrer plans etc. The interviewer can ask pretty much anything under the sun....so dont expect a FAQ list:P.
It is a good idea to brush up your general and business awareness. Freshers should prepare well for acads...you should have reasonable command over atleast 3-4 subjects.
My interview was a bit towards stress... one of interviewer was looking all dissatisfied and irritated with my answers. However, the trick lies in keeping your cool during interview and giving genuine answers.
I suggest not to give "prepared answers" to questions like why MBA, career plans etc...do some soul searching n give honest answers. Trust me, interviewers will know when u bluff.

I'm not sure about the exact number of seats but it is arnd 35-40. XL is a nice small campus so there is a lot of opportunity for interaction with BM and PMIR students...GMP students stay in the same hostel..eat in the same mess etc.

acc to me percentile doesn't matter at this stage if you perform well in the interview. I know lots of ppl here who had low XAT percentiles.

hi i got thru the written stage with 97.5%ile and 46%ile in ga
and i m a final year student of btech Comp. Science in a pvt. college
in punjab.I prep. 4 cat/xat while my 6 month training in 7thsem n now i m back in college.
This is the only call I have.
So can anyone guide me as to wat shud i prep.
I have ok acads till now(60%-70%)
but no idea abt programing
nut i m strong with my concepts in networking
also wat shud i do for my GK
and does any1 have an idea when interviews are abt to happen.

u never know what the interviewers r looking for....so better not worry abt those things...just prepare for the PI and give it ur best shot....do brush up ur final yr subjects before the interview...all the best

Just to add to wht brat said: though our batch has a high no of ppl with work ex (abt60%), our senior batch has far lesser ppl with work ex....so one cant say if there is a preference for work ex ppl.
