could anyone please tell that what are the avg. pay packege for PMIR students?

hey folks...... one question
does a gr8 %tile guarantee (clearing cutoffs 2) a call frm xlri or do they give weightage to "other factors" like the iims?
if yes then godforsaken people like me (xtra curric:bad....acads worse!!) shud not only clear cutoffs bt also top XAT....wich is IMPOSSIBLE!

It appears that last year a high percentile (or marks) did not make much of a difference in the final selection. I know a number of people who could not make it even though they had 110+ in the written exam while we have people here in XL who had around 90 in XAT. That said, you cannot extrapolate it to this year as the selection criteria may be different.

There is no material difference between BM and PMIR salaries. Last year the college average was 7.14 Lakhs.

Regarding Essays, pls refer to my post on 1st page of this thread. If it is a debateable topic, take a stand if you want to. Wont hurt. Just be balanced in your views and avoid making random/arbit statements.

I guess your referring to Systems when you say IT management. I'd say we have good faculty and most of the good systems companies visit our campus. So if your looking for a systems specialisation, you'd be happy here 😃 About the comparisons vis-a-vis the IIM's let me tell you that we dont have the I Banks visiting our campus, so if your aiming for I Banking in Deutsche Bank or Goldman Sachs, then go for A B C (coz they dont even go to L K I ) But apart from these biggies, we have all other companies which goto IIM's on campus. Atleast the once that matter do come down. Most FMCG's(HLL , ITC ,ColPalm,Godrej Blah Blah) , Banks(HSBC,StanChart,Citi,ICICI Blah Blah) Consults(Mckinsey, BCG,Accenture, IT(IBM,Cognizant,TCS,Wipro) and a lot others. If your really interested, goto www.xlri.ac.in and check out the recruiters section.
The HR guys get a few HR exclusive consults like Mercer, Hays, Hewitt as well :)

First Question : NO I dont think its fair to make any such generalisation. You may hear of people getting interview calls with scores less than those of the other junta getting calls, but that happens in IIM's also. Its probably got something to do with your past academics, work experience , pedigree etc. Better not to think abt such stuff, prepare equally hard , irrespective of whether your aiming for BM or PM&IR....both; r going to get the same paper in XAT :)

And for the second questions ....definitely a big NO

On a more serious note , as Haddock said most of the good sys. companies visit our campus- TCS, CTS,IBM, Wipro, Virtusa, CSC . Some of these companies go exclusively to ABCLXL. IBM, incidentally was the largest recruiter in the summer internship process, picking up 13 people.

neways the center allocation is so weird..im in vasant kunj and i have got a center which is so way off

I heard that there are sectional timelimits.
is it necessary to follow it.Since one may finish with GK soon.
Cud they penalise for breaking the rules.
Request the experienced people to chip in with experiences.

Yeah sujay, there are sectional time limits and you are not supposed to work on any other section even if you have already completed working on ur current section. overtly that is...they wont really penalise you but there will be some fuss and they will ask you to go back once they spot you working on another section. my advice is..use ur common sense...dont let them know

Ur help needed reg XAT - quant section,
my prep - enrolled for an IMS course - took their SIM XAT - and other XAT sample papers, - found the quant part very tough - to me it looked like a couple of gears above CAT quants, - topics like - string theory, matrices & determinants, P&C;, - questions are based on definitions given at the start of the prob and foll by 10probs - so if there are 6caselets - 60probs - prob in 40 min can attend only 2 caselets - so end up att only 15 to 18 probs - at this rate I would end up nowhere - any shortcuts avail to clear them.
