Hi folks,
I have been transferred to the cultural capital of Maharasthra - Pune. Will be shifting there this weekend.
I work for Infosys. So, puneites, which places will be the best in Pune for me to stay? I have heard about Aundh. How's that place? And, how far is it from FC Road?
Also, what's the approx rent there? I hope its not what I am used to pay in Bangalore.
I will be staying in the company's guesthouse for one week.. after that they will kick me out... :d
So, before they kick me out, i need some shelter.... can anybody here help me out "Things always get better after they are worse, so it's good to make worse as often as possible"

hi manpreet
aundh is quite far from fc road. best place will be to take a pg in deccan or shivajinagar..thats near fc road. if u get one around fc road nothing like it. the rent in pune will be much lower than that in blore. so neednt worry.

Aundh is the best lace for people like us who have office in Hinjewadi. Hinjewadi is 11km from Aundh (u can try Wakad which is just 5km from Hinjewadi, but its a remote place and people don't prefer it).
As Arthi mentioned, FC is far, its around 9-10km from Aundh. But I don't agree with Arthi abt staying at Shivajinagar or FC itself, how many times during the weekdays u will visit FC/JM? (think abt the schedule we people use to have), so select the place which is comfortable for office.
Most of the s/w guys stays at Aundh.
Also, cost at FC/Shivajinagar will be same as Blore (around 2k per head). While at Aundh is around 1.5k, not much of difference. And apartment in Aundh are new and good.
Welcome to Pune, contact me if you have any queries. We can keep this thread alive, it will help the Symbi people, specially SCMHRD people as well cause their inst in in Hinjewadi.

hey manpreet..
infosys pune is located in Hinjewadi IT park, very close to SCMHRD campus.
well...aundh will be closer to ur office but fc road is way off!
depends on if u have a bike wid u...even if u do...stayin around deccan or shivajinagar(which is close to fc) is not a viable option...as ull be wastin a lotta fuel shuttlin between ur work place n home...
i wud suggest u look for ur acco somewhere around aundh area...
the avg. rent for a 1 BHK flat in aundh is around 3.5k (say 550-600 sq.ft. area)..
ull find a lotta ppl there who r willin to share accomodation...
the best source to that is the daily TOI...
start lookin in the classifieds as soon as u get here...there r tonnes of ads in them..
cheers n good luck

Arthi, thanks for the reply..
some of my collegues here suggested me to stay in Aundh.. as it is nearer to Hinjewadi where the Infosys office is... but.. i do have couple of frnds staying near FC Road.. so how much time will take to travel from FC Road to Hinjewadi in a infy bus? any idea? Infact, I'm reaching Pune on Friday the 27th.
I work for Persistent Systems. I'm too homeless, had stayed in Aundh for 2 years at
Clarion Park(good society), before taking 1 year leave some reasons.
If you want we can try for a flat in Clarion Park(go and have a look at it, u would like the ambience), as I'm too looking for a partner.

Also, is it easy getting a flat in Aundh.... i being along... will need to find some roomies to join me... is it easy to find a decent enuf flats & roomies there?
Also, do we have to pay a deposit there? In bangalore, i paid 10 months rent as deposit... is it the same there?
PS: nils, where do you work BTW? "Things always get better after they are worse, so it's good to make worse as often as possible"

Hi Manpreet,
- abt finding roomies, don't worry if u r in Infy, just check ur bulletin board and u will get it. As u know, people are flying to onsite or leaving the place, many will be there in search of roomies, u will get it.
- deposite, no there r not as high as Blore, but they are not less as well, we had a 2BHK flat, 40k deposite, 6.5k rent.
