Just for some info on WL - last year went till 25 or so......i think....if i recall correctly.....
now vs. NM and SIBM....loads of arguments have happened on two to three threads wich can be checked....i wud say.....if u ignore placement data wich is (avg salary) fudged......and compare on other parameters den XIMB wins hands down...on all aspects.....
As Kishore had said...XIMB has a simple formula..... summation of salaries of accepted offers (can be basic or ctc watever is quoted) / no. of students placed
any other queries bring dem up.....i think now they will be answered at a faster rate......

Hi Gaurav, Joining XIMB in june his year. Just wondering what preparation shall I do (i am a comp engg), in terms of subjects like accounts/stats etc to be at par with commerce guys. Also, could you pls elaborate on how do we choose specializations. What I heard was, we don't choose specializations. We just select electives and based on those electives students are termed as fin/mkt....person. Do we also have any majors/minors funda too. I want to specialise in finance.
Hey Tushar! I'm in B'lore and I got my call letter today. I'm sure you'll get yours soon.
The XIMB call letter was the most informative and helpful call letter of the three I got this year. A definite plus point for XIMB....as compared to MICA.
But what really got my attention was the loan offer from SBI. I approached my local SBI abt an edu loan for MICA and had a lil communication problem with the loan officer. It was great to see that if I decide to choose XIMB; that,atleast, will not be a problem!!!
P.S: I would still appreciate any input on the MICA vs XIMB topic!!!!

BTW what i have heard XIM is better tha MICA... but at the EOD its what u decide. U can call some of the coaching institutes. They give u a better info.
Hi every1, Well.....no preparation needed to come at par with commerce guys......they will teach u the accounts and other subjects wen u r in campus themselves.......
As for specializations.....we have general management and diploma also says so.....
Well but wen u choose ur electives in second year......automatically u get categorized as maerk or fin or sys or ops or HR person....and choice of subjects do matter in placements.......
Also there is no concept of major minor ........ but then again it becomes implicit with the choice of ur subjects......
Also on the query of XIMB being better than MICA depends on what u r looking for exactly.......MICA is a leader among B Schools in the courses on communication which it runs......also in Media planning and advertising.....u need to decide what u want exactly.......XIMB gives a broader perspective.......
In the call letter they have mentioned about migration certificate. Is it COMPULSORY to get it??? How do we get it??
Also they want a charcter sketch from my college principal. Now it depends whether my college principal recogonises me. Is this also compulsory. Cant a character sketch from my workplace do???

yeah... i have a similar problem. i can easily get a character sketch from the principal of the college from where i did my bachelors. but ive spent a yr 'technically' doing my msc though i think the HOD at the university doesn't even recognize me. also ive only done my first yr there, didn't even give the exams as i had my admission offers by then. therefore is it necessary to get it from the last attended college or from the place i did my graduation. considering i graduated from xaviers mumbai, it makes more sense to get it from there (padris generally trust their fellow padris!! ) but i dont know if xim would be finicky about it. seniors (or others) do let me know what you think. should i go to the HOD at the univ or princi of sxc thanks regards deepti

Can a character sketch from a workplace do? I need to resign from my job and have to get the 'sketch' before leaving if it is righ to get it from there.

Hi junta, well character certificate every1 knows is a formality.....everyone knows it is same for every1 wen given from an educational institute....
Also XIMB is not that finicky about it....so u can get ur bachelors vaala character certificate....and popeye....resign and u will get ur character certi....
How the hell can ne1 sketch ur character
neways....u just have to show a character certi doc.....
And to tell u something till date i havent showed XIMB ppl my bachelors degree or final marksheet and I have been awarded the diploma......i just had character certificate and provisional certificate both from college and not the univ....
So just relax.....
BUT be sure....dat before October u shud be having all ur marksheets with u......if not degree......just in case.....

Hi again, at my college migration and character certificate were in the same certificate.....so not a prob.....just show dem wat u get from ur office or insti......and if they want something more "compulsorily" - wich i doubt den october break is the time u can get ur certi......so chill......
and as for placement...I have got placed with TVS Electronics for Sales and Marketing .......

i m sure u ppl would have received the telephone no's of a few students from each region u can call them for ur queries...
moreover we will be meeting u all in the Alumni meet very soon... it is organised in every city....every year...
otherwise...like is quiet cool in XIMB...academics are given more importance any day but we find ways to have fun...
