Hi, could anyone please suggest GD PI classes in Delhi NCR? Cherry on top if the institute has great conversion rates for XL and/or SP.

Hey I wanted ask what is a good place to do GD PI in Mumbai ?(online and  offline including)

Here's what I did for my GD prep:

1. Read up on current affairs. That'll help you with facts and figures. General topics are fairly easy to manage but if it's something technical then this reading is going to come to your aid.

2. About how to conduct yourself in a GD, just be normal. Talk naturally, like you would in a decent discussion with a stranger. Don't try to put on a fake persona for the sake of your GD.

3. Fluency in English is a basic expectation. Thankfully, I didn't have to worry about it, but if you feel like you're lacking in this department, you need to work on it. A good point with bad language will only divert attention to your language.

4. Be patient and listen. It's a discussion.

5. Be professional. Keep in mind that if you're selected, you'd be representing the institute after graduation and behave accordingly.

6. Think first before you start speaking. Don't start speaking and then think on the fly. It messes your delivery.

Again, the usual disclaimer. This is what worked for me. It might or might not work for everyone.

Prepare well. All the best!

Next year XAT DM question:

A prestigious Institute has conducted an entrance exam and messed up very badly, right from the exam conduction they confused the students by clearly instructing that certain questions do not have negative marking and then later applying negative marking to even these questions, to clear discrepencies in the answer keys. They allowed students to raise objections against the answer keys and then did not even change a single answer, they sent out a generic message to all aspirants saying that after careful considerations by expert panel they have not changed the keys. Now they are facing diffculties in shortlisting students as approximately half of the students with great overall percentile have really bad percentile in at least one of the sections. Those with decent percentiles in all sections do not meet the overall percentile cut off. It has been a few days and students are restless. What decision you, the conductor of this examination can take:

  • Conduct a random lottery pick as this whole ordeal has been very haphazard and hope aspirants appreciate the consistency.
  • Decrease the overall percentile by a considerable margin and keep the sectional percentile cut offs.
  • Decrease the sectional percentile by a considerable margin in one or many sections and keep the overall percentile
  • Decrease both the overall and sectional cutoff by a slight margin

Final selection mein GK percentile ka kitna role hota hai

hey any communication on release date of shortlist for XL

Current affairs knowledge helps greatly during GDs and WAT but preparing for current affairs is a daunting task. What would you prepare? How would you prepare? Where to start? It's all very confusing and there's no sense of direction. If you're weak at this, it is indeed hard to catch up with every aspect and be on par with someone who has been up to date with the ongoing developments.

However, for those who would like to start now, it's never too late. Follow two programs: "The Big Picture" on RSTV, and "News Analysis" on All India Radio. This would take up 40-45 minutes of your time every day but it is worth every single second. The programs are extremely loaded and contain pure analysis and no fluff. This would help you with the current developments pertaining to the government. For business news, I'd recommend one business daily.

What my strategy was: I never took notes. Taking notes on current affairs seems like a futile exercise. You're not expected to remember the smallest of details but have enough knowledge so that you can sustain a conversation about it. Taking notes is also a waste of time because you certainly won't have time to read them again later. Just listen to the discussions in the programs carefully and understand what's being said and it'll help you come up with good points in your GDs and WAT. But again this was what worked for me. If you want to take notes, feel free to.

Regardless of your strategy, I'd highly recommend spending 40-45 minutes on the two programs, and 40-45 minutes on business news. Doing this task will help you stand out compared to someone who hasn't. This is the last leg of your preparation. Give it your best shot. All the best!

guyz can we discuss gd topics till the time we wait for xlri calls. Also any veterans here who can discuss strategies on cracking writing section and gd ?

i hv been anonymously tipped by a source that the result wont be out today

Is there a remedy to the objectionable questions?

Can someone currently studying/alumnus of XLRI tell me what the least percentile convert of XLRI HRM batch usually is?

I read on several forums that people even with a 99%ile+ and a fairly decent interview are rejected. What are interviews looking for?

Moreover, I hadn't read any instances in which people with borderline percentiles have converted XLRI calls. Any leads to such people?
