this que may seem odd.but plz confirm me. IN IAS PRELIMS PAPER 1 HAD 100 QUESTIONS,IT MEANS EACH QUE CARRIED 2 MARKS(with negative mark of -0.66). AND PAPER 2 HAD 80 QUE IT MEANS EACH QUE CARRIED 2.5 MARKS(with negative mark of -0.84)....Whether i am corect or not?

In both Paper 1 & 2 1/3rd (.33) of the marks will be deducted as penalty. No Penalty for questions of Decision Making in paper 2. Yes for paper 1 each question carries 2 marks and for paper 2 each question carries 2.5 marks

UPSC exams means any exam..be it for Civil Services or CDS/NDA etc...

no one book could b termed as bst but by far and larg TMH general study manual is good one besides unique publication general study is also very popular among candidates.

hey puys this is related to the Central govt job so I thought I can ask you all about the same. If I get through a SSC Job and work there for an year and the very next year I got through another better SSC Job...I resigned from my first SSC job in a proper manner and served two years in second SSC job, then am I eligible to get age benefit of 5years which a central govt employee gets for UPSC (CSE) exams??
Guy any idea on when the prelims. result will be coming out? Need to plan a hell lot of things between SSC, this pre result and the blood sucking IT job.

Those who have started preparing for UPSC CSE Prelim exam, I would like to tell them that please do not make any GS guide your basic text book. For GS, go through the proper text books, NCERT books, etc. Those who have bought guides, use them to know the structure and not as a text book. Since you have started preparing for CSE Pre to be conducted next year, you have ample time to read and understand the regular text books. Do not waste your time in reading from Guides.

Stop thinking about these things. You don't have control over them. Just prepare your best.
