UPSC CSE Exam 2019: Admit Card, Syllabus, Result

Hi,

Need some help folks. I am getting anywhere from 220 to 250+ based on different keys. I had given up hope of clearing the prelims but then happened to look at some posts on this thread which said that ppl with 220+ seem to have a good chance of clearing the cutoffs.

Now, my queries are as follows:
1) I have chosen Physics and Chemistry as my optional subjects for the mains. I have tried looking for coaching institutes which provide training in these subjects as I wanted some test papers and if possible mock tests in the same - to get an idea of how papers are corrected in the mains for physics and chemistry. So far, I have had no success. Does anyone know of any institute anywhere in the country which provides coaching for physics and chemistry? or any good test papers with solutions for these subjects?

2) Do the coaching institutes like Rau's in delhi provide coaching for languages as well? need some prep for hindi....been ages since a wrote a sentence in hindi much less an entire paper 😛 :p

Thanks in Advance 😃

cut off wont be more than 200-210.. vajiram and other premium institutes have suggested 50-55% .. I will score around 80 and 135 and though not too sure I am pretty confident about clearing the exam!

there are a few coaching institutes which provide coaching in physics iam not too sure how reliable they are though.. ppl like supreet singh gulati, prabhjot singh have cleared with physics as their optionals may be their blogs will be of some help to you.. there are blogs of toppers with physics as optionals, search them on the net you can even contact the immediate seniors who have cleared thru those blogs.. 240plus is the highest i have heard around vajiram and coachin instis around ORN , delhi

i am currently preparing for cat and wish to join ifs post mba.

I don't know how you are directly linking MBA with Indian Foreign Service. In India, we still do not have the system of lateral entry. You have to go through the process of Civil Service Examination. And for this you should be good in what Civil Service prescribes as subjects. So, whether MBA in International Business going to help you to crack CSE should not be the question asked over here. If you want to be the part of IFS or for any Civil Service, then start preparing for the examination.

Hi,

I have just decided to appear for Civil Services- 2012 and I am quite confused about choosing the optional subjects and the related study material and maybe some coaching in New Delhi

I have been searching internet for this..

brief about my profile :

BE - NSIT (2006) - Mechanical
three years of work in IT
MBA - MDI gurgaon (2011) - Fin & ops
working as manager in a firm now..

In past , I enjoyed Physics and Maths but have heard that Public Administration helps in interview and Prelims too as well as Geography is relatively easier to score marks!!

so need some guidance on it..

PS: just saw this thread and posted here , meanwhile will be reading this whole thread too!!

2. Is it a good thought to start preparing now for next year considering I am working 6 days a week (don't have much choice though .. have only two attempts remaining 😞 )

Q2.if selected, what are the posts lined up under the purview of this exam?
Q3.The difficulty level is similer to UPSC exam or less than that?

state civil service exams r conducted by concerned state service commissions.
2-they r lower and upper sub-ordinate state civil services.
3-somewhat lower, bt in state exams u hv to deal with more factual info whereas in upsc more emphasis is on analysis.
4-in some state diff territory students r allowed.
5- wll suggest u to go thru syllabus n pprs....that wll give u the real insight.
