Quick Facts (Geography): What is a Lagoon?
A lagoon is a shallow body of water separated from a larger body of water by barrier islands or reefs. Lagoons are commonly divided into coastal lagoons and atoll lagoons. Chilka lake in Orissa and Vembanad lake in Kerala are Lagoons both connected to the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea respectively.
Chilka lake is the largest coastal Lagoon in India
Chilika Lake is a Brackish water lagoon spanning in 3 districts of Puri, Khurda and Ganjam of Odisha. The lake is an ecosystem with large fishery resources and supports 1.5 Lkh fishermen.
Chilka lake has the distinction of being India's First Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention.

I am just a beginner........even not started the preperation......but going to start it keeping IAS 2018 in mind......
I have done my schooling in hindi medium and my english is average.....but the problem is that when i study things in hindi, it is absorbed easily in compare to the things in english......one/two guys suggested me to keep english as medium.......but i am not able to decide...please help to choose the medium....if you share the pros and cons of both the medium it will help me to decide...
