@Platinum.DukaanHaving way too much trouble for my comfort, over here with the site . What about relocating? I'm trying to come up with a new drive/email that we can share. Presently busy collecting material for start-up. If you know a better method, where we can interact as well as share bulky material, let me know.
{@Platinum.Dukaan: do you think quoting the constitution time & again makes me sound dorky & nerdy?}

First of all nerdy and dorky do not go together.The former is awesome, the latter is bleh. And quoting constitution is as cool as can be. So please continue in the same vein.
I was trying to ask you which all state forms have you filled up.I have filled Chhattisgarh's and going to fill up UP's shortly.Rajasthan's is not out yet I suppose.That will be all for me.
What is the progress with history?and after history, what? I propose that next should be environment/wild life/climate change.What say?

@Platinum.Dukaan
So happy to see you again. You kinda scared me yesterday. I thought you absconded again.

I too filled chhatisgarh. Planning to fill UP too. I'll let you know when AP PSC comes out (ind lang not necessary).
You should have applied for SSC. Back then I couldn't pressurize you to fill the application. Those posts come second only to civils. You can achieve posts held b IAS, IRS, IAAS etc by promotion from those posts. Anyways apply for LIC.

U sure about SSC? At the entry level they have Grade C posts I believe. Anyways how is an LIC job better than a bank job which I have already got...to stall time of joining?

@Platinum.Dukaan
I dont even want to talk about history. I am still in the beginning of medieval. Strangely, I am having a hard time remembering aspects that were once like the back of my hand.
I desperately need a holiday. But the time factor isn't allowing me to do so. Probably after prelims, I'll run away to lonawala

@Platinum.Dukaan
There are many grade c recruitments by SSC but the one called Combined graduate level exam(cgle) is very good. It has posts like income tax/central excise/customs/narcotics inspectors, asst enforcement officer, preventive officer/examiner in customs, central secretariat service (on promotion you get under secretary) etc. Bad luck this time. Apply next year
CGLE is group B. Even civils has a few group B posts

Hello Puys,

Can anyone share the material(online or offline) of General Science for prelims?

BTW, I have inquired about the coaching(Prelims + Mains) in some institutes in Hyderabad, and found that the fee is not less than 60k in any institute and the highest is 90k among those that I have checked.

So, what do u say Puys? Is it same everywhere?Which institute is best to join ? Share your comments on this.

PS : If any one has old material , please share to me.

Cheers,

@turram_khan22
Hey, why are you posting illegal copyrighted material daily. You were reported last night & your posts were removed. Today, you came up with a new profile & are doing the same. You may cause legal problems for few innocent puys who download these files.
Please share such info only on PMs

@turram_khan22
but downloading them & posting links in social networking website is illegal. Please share such info only on PMs. I have nothing against you but I am afraid, this thread will be closed

Thanks a lot sir. Your affirmation gives a lot of confidence. We really love this thread & people here are more serious than on any other thread.

@turram_khan22
Appreciate the good work. You have quenched the thirst of many newbie civils aspirants. They have all been asking for some online material. Thanks once again

Hi Friends, i have registered for Civil Services but i wasnt asked to enter my optional for Mains.. Do we need to fill those after the shortlist for Mains is released?

Yes. Optionals will be asked only at the time of mains. Those who clear prelims will have to fill out another form for attending mains.

Hi All, i have filled the application form for Civil services (p) but at that time it somehow skipped my attention, that enginneres can also apply for IFoS. Can i apply now ??
Yes engineers can apply for IFOS. You can send a second application but make sure you select "both civils & IFOS" option in first page but not "just IFOS" because your first application will be invalidated & only the second one will be taken into reckoning by UPSC

Hi All, i am new to this forum and wishing to start my preparation for CS exam. I have 1 query, kindly anyone help me on that.There are optional subjects list for CS Main Paper VI and Paper VII. Please guide me whether we have to select 2 different subjects from the list or both paper VI and VII are based on a single subject from the list? (I read an interview from PD, the girl had Public Administration and Sociology subjects, so confused about the number of subjects to choose).
There will be two papers for each optional subject
eg: geography paper 1- physical & human geo; paper 2 - indian geo
eg2: history paper 1 - ancient, medieval period; paper 2 - modern ind his, world his

So, earlier there were 4 papers & 2 optional subjects. Incase UPSC sticks to changed pattern, paper VI & VII will be the same optional subject, but split into 2 papers

@isha.mba ,@nehasharma89 :- there will be no change in prelims. whatever the discussion going on is about mains exam. as you know that the new notification in parliament is rolled back so old pattern to be followed. You people must concentrate on prelims if you doesn't made to clear it, there's no point of mains.!
Well said bro. I just wanted this post to be mentioned again, incase people forgot to see it earlier

Hi
I have uploaded my signature in blue pen, should I have to fill the form again with black pen??

almost similar query frm my side.. i uploaded the signature in 110x140 resolution, though signature is clear nd uploaded well... do i need to fill the form agn with 140x110 resolution.?? pls puys help if some1 knows abt it...

@shilpigrt Though as per instructions you should have used black ink. But with blue ...it wont get cancelled.

in applying again....you have the danger of cancelling both applications.

Unfortunately UPSC is notorious for rejecting applications which have problems with sign & photo. Your specific case also has been dealt by it & follow this link to understand more. This is from the rejected samples put up by UPSC: (see point no 3 (b), sample 2)

http://upsconline.nic.in/download1.php?type=ni&file;=INSTR_CSP2013.html

The good news is that you can send a second application and as I said to @masoom this morning, first application will be invalidated & only the second one will be taken into reckoning by UPSC

As long as it resembles your sign, there is no problem. It is 110 pixels height & 140 width. If you do it otherwise, your sign will appear as if it is compressed laterally & pulled vertically. Remember to sign the same way till the exam process is completed. If needed, there is an option of second application.

You can send as many applications you want bro. Only the application with highest registration ID (last applied one) will be considered by UPSC. Checkout first para of point 5, page 6 in the notification.
