And what would be the most feasible one...I mean the ones which can be studied by a person without any prior knowledge of them?

I am not aware of any specific subject apart from Mech. Eng, Electrical eng, civil eng. et el. you won't like to appear for mathematics or stats either! Geography has been popular among the engineers as it is a highly technical subject. Plus, u can make a pick from Eco., Pol sci, Public admin, History, psychology, history and ol. ATB
read d discusn in d last few posts...guys u r discussing of opting fo a subject not from ya graduatn time...while it is almost sure tht we wud b left with just 1 optional subject which wud also b from wht we studied in graduatn...
we shud b discussin wht can b d subjects a person can opt considering tht...
civil services exam is on 26th may 2013....source www.ifs.nic.in...we can expect the notification soon...get ready to face the change guys...
notification regarding the changed pattern for the mains has been out for sometime bro! The marks for the optionals have been reduced by half to 600. The rest half will be added to the GS. That's the only positive change.
