Exam date:4th December
Results date:20th Jan 2012
Interview dates: Mar 12-20, 2012
Final Result: 6th April,2012

There are some surprises for this year with the introduction of Negative marking for paper 2

Also exam is on Dec 4th and not clashing with any other exam for a change;)

so competition obviously would be more

so buck up and start preparing. At the end Result is worth the journey

"Pass class" in graduation is sufficient to take TISS.

TISS Update:

1) Negative marks introduced in Paper 2

2)Social Work has been split to different specializations and applicants have to apply separately for different programmes. One can only apply for at-most 2 Social Work Programmes.

The model papers given in the TISS website seems to be like boosters to take TISS..puys can some from TISS tell if the actual TISS paper will also be of the same difficulty level or wil it be more difficult

Hi...
Noone can comment for sure bout what the final paper is going to be like... Typically, the model paper is a good represenation of the sections apart from the Gk& Management section in part 2 of the HRMLR paper. In this section, you really cant be sure, they can ask you anything under the sun.
Since you have time in hand, give it your best shot. I would suggest lots of practice & building upon your speed. Plus, wisely choosing questions which you find to be simple for you, could be a good strategy.

Getting back to these forums feels extremely nostalgic. I still remember exactly a year back when we (Anchun, Blackdragon, IIM-A, Rameez, Hemanth and some whose names i forget) used to scan these forums and waitfor some senior to come around and help us out in any way possible.

Now i understand how difficult it was for them to do that when the exams are so close. We will try to be as helpful as the seniors were to us last year and hope you all will forgive us for not being online for a while.

My suggestion is (and i found it very useful when i was in your (prospects) position last year): Keep researching about the admission processes, read up, read the prospectus, read the previous yrs prospectus/threads etc. This will help you help others.

We can answer most questions but the deadline will get closer and closer faster than you expect. So be quick and finish off the admisison process and concentrate on your exam.

The TISS helpline will always be there for you too.

waited and waited for TISS notification and finally booked my NMAT slot 3 days back for 3rd December given the fact that TISS always happens in 2nd week of december !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and now what 3rd December NMAT and
4th December TISS

Hope you won't mind, if I reply to your message. Your scores are no where average. As mentioned earlier by Anchun, you just need "Pass criteria" a/c to your board.

TISS offers specializations in many areas(Social Work, Disaster Management, HRM&LR; etc). For details, please refer to the brochure. Different courses have different purposes, different benefits and different futures. Evaluate accordingly and take a decision.

What all documents are to be scanned and uploaded in Step 6 of the registration process.
Actually, Step 1 asks about the annual income of parent. I know the approximate avg income, but do no have any income certificate as yet of my father. So, I don't want any descrepancy later if I fill in approximate income.
Please help.

Hi,

I am quite disappointed about the social work break up as now it will become extremely specialised. Also, it will be more difficult to crack the written when compared with previous years. I got through till the written last year. But I guess if seniors could suggest something about the various courses of social work or how to go about it , that would be great !

You will get to know that after they start sending admit cards. According to the seniors , it will be conducted between 9-11 am.

Step 6 docs will be mentioned somewhere. The process has changed drastically therefore it would be difficlut for us all to go thru every step just to answer the question. I suggest you go thru the instructions again very carefully and it would surely be mentioned there. If any other applicant can answer this Q then gr8.

Coming to the income part, I faced a huge problem last year when I was told to send any income certificate. So I sent a 1 yr old IT return form. Then i realised that i needed to send the latest IT returns. This was a huge mess.

Look at what you have. Talk to your dad. Usually the latest ITreturn is available by this time. If not see wht other options you have. Then call TISS CARE and ask them.
