For IIM's, IIT's and Other top B-schools.. Should the letter of reference or Recommendation from employer (Manager or supervisor) be produced ? is it mandatory? .. if produced would it be advantageous ?
There are no Reco or SOP required in the process. I remember some year back IIMB used to send you a booklet to fill up if you get a call. definitely not for other IIMs. Those things are required for Executive MBA where profile and work ex matters.
FYI, IIMB still requires an SOP and 3 Letter of Recommendation in a specified format - mails are sent to the referees directly and they will respond directly to PGP Office. IIMK required us to name 2 referees who might be contacted later .
But all these are required after you get the interview calls from the respective institutes. And in case you are working - it is always better if you can name your manager/supervisor as a referee - though I admit it might not be always feasible.
they told me that first all the complaints are attended...each and every question is solved by the concerned authorities ( IIM ) again to check whether they are correct or not...than all the dubious questns are removed and the scores are accordingly scaled...according to him this is what takes 2 months for them to generate the results...yeh short mein bataya maine...
its really curious how they would scale, if they scale by giving all the candidates appearing on that day marks for that question, it would be unfair for those who did not have that day, if they do not give marks then it would be unfair for those who had that day, if they give marks for whoever has attempted, then it would be unfair for those who left it thinking the question is wrong,... however they say and try this is seriously flawed, and in an exam where 3-4 marks can create or destroy history, they really cannot justify and get away with it
