Hi all,


I have experience of 30 months as ASE in TCS. Currently on sabbatical for 2 years from TCS.
My institute is TIER -2 MBA institute. I am joining back the TCS on march 2013. My last band was B.

1. Please let me know how much slary hike I can expect (minimum and maximum).
2. would I have to again do coding after joinig back?

@pank99 First of all a disclaimer since I am not from TCS , though worked for 2 years in Infosys as a SPM ..........Secondly , congratulations on completing yr MBA ........ I had a colleague in Infosys who followed the same pattern as yours .....post his MBA from XLRI he joined as an offshore PM and gradually took up other managerial jobs , so probably you need to communicate clearly with yr Team at TCS about yr profile as to where in u will fit in post yr MBA .......Frankly speaking ,personally I get a little surprised if these questions even occur at first place .......I mean , after doing an MBA from a good Institute , you should be able to think out very clearly as to where yr interests lie and what u want to do in life because IMHO this is what a good MBA brings to the table .....and of course a lots of self confidence too :)....nevertheless we all have our own thought processes and its good to ask questions when u can get help ..........ATB.......I wont say I give unwarranted advice , however if u are still confused , you can give me a call and I would try to give u my opinion on the subject

Hi puys please help!

I joined tcs as a fresher in jan2012 and currently on bench since then. I have written cat2012 and expecting a perc to be around 85-90%. I am not getting any calls for my domain(Mainframes) in delhi/ncr and have lost all the hopes of getting into any project, and now really screwed by rmg with some mental pressure to join some smb project which in my point of view is a waste of my time even if i join smb(its a project to conduct online exams at college centres on 4 days --> thursday - sunday till april with no experience being counted). IIFT/XAT/NMAT being just around the corner, I need to prepare for them as well and this mental torture from rmg is enough to give sufficient mental stress before exams. Should i leave the company and prepare for CAT13 and other exams this year and next session? in a huge dilemma...

Hi, folks...I am currently pursuing my MBA from Jamnalal bajaj inst of mgmt studies (JBIMS)..wd pass out 2013 batch...Cud ne1 tell about the salary packages and profiles(with designations) offered to Mgmt trainees considering JBIMS is an ivy-league B-school...Wanted to hv knowledge abt dese things b4 the plcmt season kicks off...

@tjay Hi Buddy !! Same situation with me too . I am currently working for CSC Noida in the same domain {mainframe} . There are many calls for this domain but all are either for banglore/pune or Chennai . No good calls in north zone other then IBM and RBS {gurgaon } only where we can expect any good work . I too have given CAT 2012 and SNAP / XAT are on the way . But i am very dicey

1) For new project KT , they are planning to send me onsite with 1 year of further Bond and that too have to be finalized till 10 dec .

Mainframe {Not my piece of cake } , I have planned that either i ll go to some other company with some good hike and will prepare for CAT 2013 again {if i don't get some good score enough for Tier 1 colleges. }

Kindly tell me if onsite opportunities will make my way easier towards the management goal or it will be wrong to choose the onsite at this moment and concentrate more on CAT thing {Dream } .....

@vrana95 : Hey, u hv 2 rmbr dat gtn an onsite opportunity wl def call fr more work n commitment frm ur end...u wnt b able to conc. on ur MBA prep unless u wrk der fr a yr or 2 n aim for US b'schools via GMAT..So in case u wish to target for top Indian b'schools...u hv 2 focus right frm now n giv cent % for ur entrances..owing to terrible competition out der...So dcide which one u wanna go 4 - an onsite term or a crack in d mgmt entrances....

hi I am 2012 BE pass out. My joining date in TCS Chennai is Feb 21. Can anyone of you tell me how long the training period in chennai is ? Will my training be over by May 21 ?

i had been placed in TCS in august 2012 and since my college is a Y grade college. my joining would be in october 2013 starting(this year it was 3rd oct.).
i will write CAT 2013, and it would fall in october 2013,i wanna know will i get time to prepare in ILP session??

ILP will be d best dayzz of Ur TCS career..

bro, whatever preference U give it doesnt matter...
it all depends on your ILP HR/co-ordinator (atleast it used to happen lyk this 2 yrs back)..
BTW, U cant change preference.
ri8 now sitting in office and PaGaLGuY' ing..

I got placed in TCS and in IBM - GBS (Global Business Services) as well as a fresher. But i am really not be able to decide which organization to join. As I heard that IBM is only a big brand name and they will pay me less and no hikes, no increment. But as far as TCS concerned i'll be on bench for long duration. Both offer me around 3.2 LPA and designation as ASE. Please suggest me which organization will be better for me as a fresher ?
