Kanika,
I hope you did not mean group study for TCS ILP !! Because you do not need any such thing. It is a breeze.

I mean group study for CAT 2012

Then I guess this is not the right thread. There are many focussed threads on this.
I've been placed in TCS. I'm a fresher.
Is there any advice that fellow TCSers would like to give me ?
You need to be patient and careful with regards to the projects that are being offered to you. There might be a push from Resource Management Groups to take up whatever project come your way, but you have to do some real research on the nature of your job, shift timings, future scope, etc.
There are several active clubs present in TCS, be involved with them. If you're preparing for MBA, the libraries have very good reading material. Very good magazines have been subscribed. Make use of all of them.
All the best 😃
Can any TCSer name the cities in which TCS is having BFSI vertical projects apart from Chennai?

Buddy.....considering the fact that BFSI is the highest revenue earning vertical for TCS....i can assure you that even the smallest of the smallest centres of TCS will be having atleast 1 BFSI project.....Cheers....:)

I think thats more of a logic than a fact. Thanks nyways.

Actually DeathKnight is correct. I think you meant which centers are heavy in BFSI. So the big ones would be Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Gurgaon. There are many other smaller ones.
just want to enquire about clinical data management in TCS...hw is the job profile....wat is the starting salary...and r there any good hikes each yr..as in upto maxm wat threshold cn u salary in cdm in tcs reach...
n wat is the future of cdm in comp like TCS/...is der enough exposure...??
Hi guyz,
I got recruited by TCS in Infrastructure Services profile. All my other frnds were recruited in General profile and they got their joining dates and location. Whereas I didn't receive any such mail. What to dao? Getting tensed.
Dont be tensed.. TCS sends joining letter according to availability of slots in ILP centers. You will definitely get you call soon..
Could sb explain me what sort of projects are done by GCP?
How hectic are the office timings in such profile?
Frequency of transfers?
Time for CFA/CAT prep?
HI frnds,

I am under the impression that BFSI means Chennai + Bangalore in TCS.
So ur answer has made me happy

(Java + Banking) will be a tremendous combo. I cant think of any better one. I presume that u r goin for MBA Finance.
If yes, then u will be given some analyst/consultant kinna role.....kind of a mediator between client and software engineers.
In other words, wat u were developing till now will be developed by others and u will monitor/instruct them.
Onsite chances....yes surely they will be there but slightly lesser than engineers.
MBA from MDI and am i presuming correctly, that u wanna rejoin indian IT co?:wow:

thanx a lot
i am preparing for mba and i'll definitely look into projects before taking them up.
is it ok for a fresher to reject projects? and what do i do if i constantly get projects i dont like?
Hi SSK,
Only one piece of advice i will give you..just relax and enjoy the journey. The ILP training(Intial learning programme) of TCS is too good. You will have the best time of your life with your peers during these 2 months and lot of bonding these take place. These are the benefit on the personal font.
Talking about professional font, if you want to do an MBA then TCS is the best place to be in, as you get lot of time to study and there is no much work load( though it may differ from project to project but in general life is smooth in TCS).But if you want to make career in technical domain, TCS is not the right place to start...Hope this may help.

Everyone has their interests . IT aint that bad also . The back end workers that is the off shore ppl generally dont have quality work . But apart from that there are positions like Customer Relationship Manager , Business Development Manger , Consultants and other client facing roles which are very good . And definitely 5 yrs experience can be a huge advantage during placements

Hi,
I got selected in TCS, and I am offered a position as Management Trainee- Human Resource.
Can somebody help me out in giving me an idea as to when do they release the formal joining letters to the MBAs.
I know about "Batching" and also those similar typologies
, but still any idea when it is usually released.
Last Saturday, i received the mail regarding the BCG verification and NSR.
Thanks in advance
Cheers!!

Actually, I really dont know what profile I want to enter after MBA, its just that I am looking for quality job, better pay package and better position.
I think IT consultants are paid very well and given challenging work opportunities.
What do u think?
