exactly wat i thought.......the number u r refering to includes 120 initially selected candidates. The actual waitliist clearence should be-
80+38+10 for PGDM- 130 approx
another -180 seats in sectoral courses + 60 extra seats awaited
Multiple seats have been allotted to single candidates in sectoral courses....so it is best not to speculate. Sudeep sir had told that the list for sectoral sources declared was quite small. Expect massive movement one the AICTE approvals are received by the institute. I just hope that it happens smetime soon.
Just my 2 cents.
so then it makes the cleared waitlisted candidates number to 310-338 (with another 10 seats of PGDM been cleared), assess yourselves waitlisted puys... i'm not in the list till now :-(..
Multiple calls are given for BFS,IB and HCM.. So, we can say (80+40+15)= 135 waitlisted candidates are cleared for PGDM for sure. But, we dont know many candidates were given calls for sectoral progs..
Also, some of HCM candidates may not be frm waitlist as they could be frm seperate entrance conducted by TAPMI..
hey i am tryin callin sudeep sir,no one is pikin, cud anyone again give me d number,i want to know my waitlist number, many days before i had asked him ,he had tyold its within 350 but i dont know my exact waitlist number, please help

Hi,
First of all, a big thank you to all the participants in this thread. Its been really helpful through the drudgery of the wait!
My queries is regarding PGDM - healthcare management.
I have been doing a bit of initial research for a past coupla days. I found that the few institutes that do offer MBA in healthcare in India do not pose a great track record for placements or average salaries.
Also, where the fee is concerned, i find that TAPMI charges way too high when compared to the rest for this specific course. (sometimes even more than double)
1. Since a lil over 8 lakh is a lotta money, what kind of ROI can i expect?
2. Since its the inception year, what kind of placement can i expect the college to provide?
3. What kind of average salaries can be expected for this sectoral course?
Anybody is welcome to venture a reply.
DISACLAIMER THE SOURSE OF THE INFORMATION IS INTERNET AND I BEAR NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR THIS
With the growing importance of hospital industry in providing health care to people across the country, hospital management courses are also becoming popular. The government of India is also paying attention on providing health care in both rural and urban areas. The requirement of professional administrators in the hospitals is growing at a rapid pace primarily because the nature of work in hospitals is quite deferent from other organizations. Hospitals are expected to deliver quality service 24 hours a day at a minimal cost. The urgent nature of its work and the level of efficiency that is expected have increased the need of well-formulated hospital management courses throughout the world.
To cater to the needs of health centers across India, various career institutes have, therefore, started offering hospital administration courses in India. Career training in hospital management helps the students to pursue two goals in life, first of earning a good salary package and second offering services to the mankind.
Hospital Administration Courses
:
There are at present quite a good number of institutes that offer various hospital management courses in India. In order to regulate the standard of hospital management courses, the Medical Council of India is now taking initiative to make the curriculum uniform.
While some reputed medical colleges are offering MD courses in Hospital Administration, Madurai Kamraj University and some other institutes have also started offering 2-year full time MBA course in Hospital Administration. While some institutes are offering certificate and diploma courses in hospital management, you can also pursue short - term distance learning courses in hospital management. The Indian Society of Health Administrators (ISHA) offers one year Distance Learning Programme in hospital administration and nursing administration. The Tamil Nadu Open University also offers 2-year distance learning MBA in Hospital Administration.
Health care management is an essential position within any health care organization. Executives are trained professionals who work to improve the health of patients, families and entire communities. Colleges and universities across the country offer a variety of certificate, undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees in this growing industry. While the curriculum varies among colleges, programs generally offer the following courses.

Puys I was thinking can we seek a RTI to AICTE regarding the status of TAPMI or probably write a mail to Kapil Sibal regarding this coz I guess we should know what's going on I have left SIIB coz I was certain I will convert Tapmi but now I am in a soup....I still think AICTE approval will come coz nvr Sudeep sir said that they are not sure about if the approval will come or not. He is always certain but is not too certain when will it arrive and one point to make college is at higher loss than anyone of us 24 crore at stake and the amount they spend on infrastructure and inducing new faculty...I still Think they will get AICTE approval but when is the question.....
PS: Puys let me knw your views regarding RTI and Mail to Sibal

I dont think that they would be able to provide any dates or for that matter any confirmation whether TAPMI would be getting the AICTE approval or not for those extra courses. If they had anything finalized (the date or approval) then the same would have been communicated to TAPMI and hence we would have received that information from TAPMI.
Yes we have the right to ping and try to extract the information but its a process which takes time and nothing much can be done abt it except to wait and watch.
Lets just hope/wish that the dust is cleared sooner than later so all of us can have atleast 2 weeks to enjoy/plan/resign etc etc.

I believe its not going to serve any purpose as the answer to the RTI could be that approval is in progress. i know what you and many other puys are feeling about the way the things are handled.
The better way could have been getting AICTE approval much before the course start and not at the last. There will be people who will loose money by paying other B-schools and playing safe on the other hand there will be people who will be like you. All this is going to affect the bran value of TAPMI. I think this matter could have been dealt in better way than this. What say puys??

Friends first thing is the information you require doesn,t fall under individual communication that means they will not provide you information about the internal details of a college through RTI as college has not given you offical letter therfore its better we stay calm as RTI doesn't have any clause to tell you the information of a college to which you are not admitted(remember we are only partially admitted).
Hi puys...
Converted NIRMA

....joining NIRMA for sure.
...ALL THE BEST TO GUYS IN WAITING LIST...
ps: Guys pls guide me on how to withdraw from TAPMI...
Me too...

Do we need to carry a medical certificate for fitness before joining??
@kiddi..which post are you replying to??
yes..u would need to take a medical certificate (regarding your fitness) along with your offer letter on the date of joining..
there are no other formalities after u send both the instalments.. other than going to TAPMI.. :)
There has been no official confirmation from TAPMI regarding any change of joining dates..so as of now, the Date of Joining remains 1st July..

Medical certificate ?...but in the offer letter there is no such thing mentioned..also i did not receive any such email from the collge stating the same(though i read in some previous post of this thread where the seniors said we need to do a medical test once we reach Manipal).Have u received any such mail from college?

No such mail is received by any of the selected candidates. But yes we need a medical certificate at the time of registration along with the other documents.
Now when that registration is going to happen......we havent received any such date for that......so if it happens one month after joining college then we can easily get the medical certificate from any hospital in manipal.
Seniors please clear this doubt of medical certificate and registration date............

I called up Sudip sir a little while ago to ask him about any change in the date of joining. He confirmed that July 1st will be the date of joining.
