Do one thing immediately take a screen shot of the speed post tracker send that to jyothi mam or sudeep sir.Since by this time u won't be having D.D'S to scan atleast the D.D no will suffice.
Yeshwantpur is in Bangalore which is arnd 400 kms from Manipal. There is a daily train from Yeshwantpur to Mangalore which u can take and get down at Mangalore. From Mangalore, u can get lots of buses to Manipal. Get down at Tiger Circle at Manipal and ask ant auto to take you to the TAPMI new campus. Alternatively, you can get KSRTC and private buses to Manipal or Mangalore from Majestic in Bangalore.
a small query where exactly we need to get down Mangalore JN (the train stops here for 1 min) or Mangalore CNTL (The train stops here for 25 mins). Also will the buses be available nearby the station or we need to move some distance and then catch the bus to Manipal( need to know this since luggage is there)
Get down at Mangalore CNTL. If you wish to take a bus ask auto driver to take you to KSRTC bus stand. Ask him to go by meter. If he doesn't agree give him max of Rs 30. From Managlore there are buses plying for Manipal/Udupi every 15 mins or so with fare around Rs 40. KSRTC has even started Bangalore like Volvo between Manipal and Mangalore with fare being Rs 60. But I don't think with the luggage that every body will be carrying, bus will be a good transportation option. The buses are not long jounrey buses but are typical city buses which are crammed and not spacious for carrying luggage. It's better to take a cab and reach Manipal.

Also in the second option i wud be reaching Maipal/College pretty early in the morning..around 6 AM so then will the hostel in-charge let me in at that time..or i have to wait somewhere..Seniors if u can give some insight into this.
I don't think it's necessary that we have to meet them only in the evening..as they have written in the offer letter that we meet them as soon as we reach the place..the timing, though will be a problem for most of us..as most of us will be taking the night bus from B'lore to Manipal..and reach around the same time as you..

Dont worry about the timings. You can come in anytime. The hostel in charge will be available...
First of all, a big thank you to all the participants in this thread. Its been really helpful through the drudgery of the wait!
My queries is regarding PGDM - healthcare management.
I have been doing a bit of initial research for a past coupla days. I found that the few institutes that do offer MBA in healthcare in India do not pose a great track record for placements or average salaries.
Also, where the fee is concerned, i find that TAPMI charges way too high when compared to the rest for this specific course. (sometimes even more than double)
1. Since a lil over 8 lakh is a lotta money, what kind of ROI can i expect?
2. Since its the inception year, what kind of placement can i expect the college to provide?
3. What kind of average salaries can be expected for this sectoral course?

Anybody is welcome to venture a reply.
No one as of yet can answer these questions. Anyone who does is wildly speculating and you can't bet on speculation.

I'm addressing the first part of ur question. I think it largely depends on how much luggage you have with you and how prone to motion sickness you are. The KSRTC Volvos have lots of space in the boot for lugagge so you can dump it there. But the journey throught he ghata sis pretty rough and will be more so once the monsoons hit. Also if you come by train to Mangalore and get to the KSRTC bus stand and get one of those red Volvos to Manipal, I think you should have enough space for your luggage.
So basically if u don't have a problem travelling through hilly roads on buses, go ahead and take the bus from Bangalore. If you do have a problem, take a train to Mangalore and proceed from there. I can't tell u exactly where cabs are available near Mangalore station. Somebody else will have to elaborate. The KSRTC bus stand is in Lal Bagh opposite Bharath Mall. From Lal Bagh you also get normal non-KSRTC buses to Udupi and Manipal.
I will get down at banglore at 8:00 AM morning then i will be taking a bus to Manipal say around 9:00 AM then i will get down at tiger circle from there i need to take a cab to TAPMI -Manipal My questions are
1.can i reach the place by 6:00 pm-8:00pm evening?
2.Do we have A.C bus(VOLVO) available from Majestic and do i need to take a cab from banglore raliway station to majestic??.Many thanks in advance.

You will have to check the KSRTC schedules to find out if there is any Volvo (the Airavath service they call it) from Bangalore to Manipal/Udupi at that time. Most of the buses availbale would be to Mangalore, so you might anyway have to change there. Airavath buses to Udupi/Manipal will be available in the evening for sure. So you might have to wait in bangalore for around 12 hours before you get a bus. Or take a day bus to Mangalore and change there for Manipal.
1. Leaving Bangalore at 9 and reaching at 6 might be difficult. You should reach by 7-8.
2. Don't know if there are cabs available from Yeshwantpur (which btw is NOT the main railway station in Bangalore). You'll most probably have to fight with the autos at the station.

If you get down at Yesvantpur, you'll have to take an auto/cab to Majestic, where the Bus station and Railway station are located. If you are getting off at SBC (Bangalore City) station, then also you have a short Auto ride cuz otherwise you need to haul your luggage around yourself.
Once at the Majestic Bus station, you can get Volvo tickets to Manipal or Mangalore. Manipal buses run in the night, so you will have a day to yourself at Bangalore, which is not a very bad thing.
At Tiger Circle you can again take an auto to TAPMI. Explicitly mention "NEW CAMPUS".
One word of caution... Manipal is infamous for its rains. Make sure your luggage is waterproof. Otherwise there is a fair chance you will land up with a soggy wardrobe.
can someone call Sudeep Sir and ask about the current status of AICTE approvals. I would but i bug him way too much. Any news would help.
I spoke wit Sudeep sir today.. He said they dont know when they will ge t AICTE approval. It can even be around june 20th. He politely said there is no point in calling for this, as they themselves dont know.. I asked abt my waitlist position to conform it again.. he told I am in next 60.. I asked whether they will start sectoral courses under Manipal univ if there is no approval frm AICTE. He replied they wont start..
so then it makes the cleared waitlisted candidates number to 310-338 (with another 10 seats of PGDM been cleared), assess yourselves waitlisted puys... i'm not in the list till now :-(..

Somebody said, at the end everything will be good, but I can't wait till the end.
