Dude,

Yup, thanks for clarifying..So we can be rest assured that its the original wtng list number..

@ Seniors My parents are also planning to come along with me to Manipal ,do we have any arrangements for parents accommodation inside campus for 1 day?

The institute has a guest house facility on campus that the admin office might be in a position to provide. But it is a paid facility. Also given that a large number of students would be coming in with their respective families, I sincerely doubt if the facility would suffice. The institute can therefore not entertain your request. There are however good hotels in Manipal and we seniors would be more than glad to help you with info on those.

Also while you are coming with your family, it is mandatory to bring some home cooked food for the hungry souls of TAPMI, i.e. your seniors

I talked to sudip sir an hour ago, he told me that they are coming out with IB results by wednesday but it might be under manipal university (i.e. without aicte approval), i want to know is it worth taking a course that is not aicte approved.......please advice....

did he say anything abt PGDM results??

Just spoke to Sudeep Sir. He tld that 2nd waitlist movement will be put up on the website by today evening. He said that it is expected to move by around 25 numbers.

He also said that the other 60 seats are yet to receive approval in 'Black and White'. He said only after that happens, they will release those seats for waitlisters.

Only IB what about BFSI and still the approval is "might be" ......:banghead:

What if a person gets through IB and he is interested in PGDM???
Is he required to deposit the fees??Will he be considered for auto upgradation??
If he doesn't deposit the fees and later on he supposedly doesn't get through PGDM and he then wants to take IB/BFSI will he still be considered??.Seniors please clear the air..

Once the waitlist movement pushes a candidate into the "Selected" list, the institute sends an offer letter offering a seat in a particular course to the candidate.

While we guys did not have alternative courses to choose from, such an upgradation (How PGDM is an upgrade from the other courses is beyond my understanding) would mean mobility between different courses and not branches of a course, e.g. in Engineering colleges. Therefore, I do not think such movement would be allowed.

The situation you are talking about arises only if all seats in the PGDM course is not filled up after all waitlist movement has concluded... and to be honest with you, I don't see a chance of that happening.

My advice to you would be find out the course that suits your requirements ideally and go ahead with that. As I keep reiterating, do what you want to do, and not what you think will lead to greater gains. I shall leave it to your judgement to see the difference between the two.
Edit: I STAND CORRECTED!
As Sandeep Sinha has already clarified, that is how the list would behave. Apologies for any inconvenience I might have caused puys.

Yes, If you happen to take admission in IB/BFS/HCM and PGDM gets approval for 60 extra seats, Next 60 people in merit list will be offered seat irrespective of whether student has taken admission in other course or not.

TAPMI will play fair game, seats will be allotted according to merit number. Taking admission in other course won't dilute your chances.

Hi all,
Had a talk with Sudeep sir. He told tat the PGDM wait list will be updated today. But, there will not be huge movement.Offers for remaining 60 seats will only be given after formal approval. He didn't mention any date for this. And, he told offers for BFS and IB will be sent this thursday. He also said the merit list for all the prog are same.
When I asked for up-gradation of course, he said that it can be done. But will be based on our merit list and preferences.

I had converted TAPMI on the 11th of May.Got the confirmation from the college for both the installments paid. Now i can safely as part of the PGDM 2010-2012 Batch

Anyone converted from Wait List?

Does this mean that only 25 seats from the original 120 seats are vacant now???

if wait-list for all the courses is same, then the candidates who were rejected for PGDM do not have any chance to get into the any of the programs in the college this year ?? That means merit-list for the remaining 60 PGDM seats should be released before BFS/IB/HCM ??

It definitely seems so.
We've had almost 20-25 puys posting their confirmation after 11th May.

I pray for my D's success! Good luck every one.

38 seats! So if the approval for the other 60 seats comes soon, we can expect a total of 100-125 places movement in the Wait List.
Good news for guys who've got confirmation from Sudeep Sir regarding their number in the range of 100-150! :)
