My father had a talk with Sudeep sir. He said AICTE has declared they will give a reply on 26th for all pending approvals. So good or bad, we will have news on 26th.

Things are not that easy for me. Most likely, this was my 2nd & last attempt at CAT. Praying for a miracle now. Anyways, all the best to you for your future plans. I am sure that if approval comes we will see you at TAPMI. Hope that.

Hey mate, but 26th is a Saturday ie holiday for all central govt offices.
Just talked to Jyoti Ma'am. She told me that the AICTE approval is still under process. The delay was from the AICTE side as they messed up some data entry and had to collect the necessary data from the college for the second time. As and when the approval comes, the management will take a decision on the 'new' date for the commencement of course for the remaining student. She told me that when the approval is received, courses for other batches can be started with a delay.
I am yet to get my loan approval. I am expecting it in couple of days. Roughly it takes around 2 weeks for processing..
Even I tried for syndicate bank.. The interest rates are low.. My father doesnt have account dere.. bt v knew a few folks working there.. But still I had to go daily to the bank and convince them for almost 3-4 days.. But by the time they agreed for taking in the application, I had already started processing in Corp Bank.. So I dint want to do it in 2 places n left it...
I went to the nearest Syndicate Bank Alipore Branch and met a gentlemen named Arup Bannerjee and the reasons he cited for denying the processing of the loan.
1. Neither me nor my father has any A/C in Syndicate Bank and to get a loan you must maintain your A/c for atleast 6 months.
2. My area pin code and the Syndicate Bank's pincode are same but still it does not fall in there area of operation.
Craziest of the Lot
3. There are other banks on the way from my home to Syndicate bank so they cannot process my loan as per there books if there is any bank nearer than Syndicate they cannot process the loan

I sincerely hope TAPMI gets the AICTE approval for all the courses, you guys deserve it, it has been a long wait. I can understand the agony it has caused 😞 A 360 strong batch will be awesome because I personally feel that interaction with people from different backgrounds is an essential part of any management course. Godspeed.

Yes dude.. Some people sitting as loan officers in these banks dish out such s****y explanations that you get pissed off..
I got furious when a loan officer in syndicate bank showed me some order document (from the state government), stating that maximum amount cap for Mba - tution fee to be granted is 40k.. I told him tat you will be not able to fund more than 2-3 colleges in the top 20, or for tat matter any MBA aspirant.. I asked him why do you publicize in the websites saying maximum amount as 10L and 12L... N then came the bumper answer, this 40k cap is a directive by Tamil Nadu state govt.. Phew !!!! Man.. why do you have national websites then??
I do agree loan defaults are a concern, but one would atleast expect a rational response.. Afterall we are trying for education loans and not car loans...

From the two posts I guess we should be on firm ground only on next monday i.e. 28th. This is assuming that the AICTE reply comes on 26th and then the TAPMI management makes decisions about joining date etc for new students over the weekend.
Of course all this is hoping that they get the approval else all of us seem set for CAT 2010. All the best to everyone. We have waited so long, so another 5 days wont hurt I guess.

Thanks for your sympathy. I agree that a bigger batch will bring in more talent to the group and hence enhance the learning experience. Another point I would like to add is that with a larger student pool, bigger companies might come to campus as they will have more options to choose from.

personally I was looking ahead to join Tapmi.. It's a grt institute no doubt .. but all these AICTE approval/ disapproval , have really sucked out the patience within me. The college authorities should have confirmed the AICTE approval before conducting interview and making a 1 and a half month waitlist ( Money isn't everthing ).. such a simple equation, you sell what you have.. anyhw, really pissed off and m really sorry to say that..

It seems OK to start the classes late for other courses in case of delay due to AICTE approval. But what about extra 60 seats of PGDM regular program. The classes are starting from 1st so how will those 60 students manage to join on 1st in case TAPMI gets the approval considering the fact that they would be notified of their confirmation on 28th June.
