As the world is getting more and more digitalised and people spending huge amout of time on online platforms such as facebook ,twitter ,youtube etc the issue of cyber security becomes important to protect individual privacy so that his/her data doesnt get leaked in public domain.
Today a lot of data is getting generated through various platform weather it is a financial transactin app like paytm or a food ordering website like zomato .It becomes important for the company protect the privacy of an individual as per Article 21 as it is a fundamental right.
There have been many cases of finacial transaction fraud happening all over the world and recently happened in indian banks also. other example was the leakage of data by facebook to cambridge analytica for political gains for republican party. Last year the digital attack of ransomware like wanncry ,petya etc is also an exaple that shows issue relate to cybersecurity.
At this point it requires some serious steps to be taken by india so that people are not exploited .Firstly People should be made more aware through television and media about cybersecurity issues. Secondly India needs to stregthen its agencies like CERT-IN and other agencies so that it can be reduced. Thirdly proper laws need to be made and implemented in letter and pirit for this goverment has already constituted justice BN srikrishna committee.Fouthly the indian it industry should give proper training to youth in cyber security technologies.
All these steps if taken will definetely help in reducing the number of cybercrimes and will help achieve digital india mission.
