BETI BACHAO---maark the essay...(out of 50)..
Boisterous As Wind,Playful As Balloon,Please Don’t Kill The Little Butterfly In Her Cocoon.”
India has been suffering badly with a skewed sex ratio and increasing number of female foeticides for far too long.To tackle this menace Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,a social scheme under the aegis of MoWCD was launched by Prime Minister in 2015 in Panipat, Haryana.A state having worst female sex ratio, as per 2011 census.
The scheme is mainly focused on creating awareness and improving delivery of welfare services for women and girl child with a view to making them socially and financially independent in order to address the gender imbalance and discrimination prevalent in the society. As Empowering girl child brings all round progress especially in the family and society.
We are Witnessing a continuous decline in the female child sex ratio( 0-6 yrs) since last some decades, due to the irrational preference o the male child over female child prevalent in the society. This problem is further aggravated by modern diagnostic tool helping in sex-selective abortion.Even after birth,a girl child has to face discrimination in terms of fulfilling her education, health and nutrition needs, child marriage etc.
this scheme in itself will not be sufficient it should be backed by robust police network to provide them security, job opportunities, strict implementation of PCPNDT act along with legally ensuring their representation in all fields.
Any country can not progress while leaving behind half of their population, rather role of that half becomes even more important as Mahatma Gandhi has rightly pointed out-"If you educate a man,you educate only an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate an entire family.”
UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME----
Even after three decades of sustained economic growth and proliferation of welfare schemes, roughly one in three Indians still languishes below the poverty line. The persistence of poverty and significant leakages in welfare schemes that aim to alleviate it has prompted policymakers to explore more efficient alternatives to India’s creaky and leaky welfare architecture.
universal basic income (UBI) is an unconditional right to a basic income to all citizens of a country.UBI is premised on the idea that a just society needs to guarantee to each individual a minimum income to provide the material foundation for a dignified life with access to basic life necessities.
UBI will drastically reduce poverty and destitution. It will promote social justice by ensuring that everyone gets resources to meet their life needs. It will treat citizens as agents responsible of using the income as they see best. For a majority of Indians, this income will provide a safety net against health, income, and other shocks.
However,UBI may put too much stress on the Government treasury and the banking system.Households may spend this income on wasteful activities, and people may opt out of the labour market also necessities like health and education cannot be met simply by transferring the money as govt intervention is a must.
UBI in itself is not sufficient for the upliftment of poor. But,coupled with other economic reforms to allow poor to gain better education and health facilities, removing barriers to job creation will help them to step out of "low-reform,low-income trap"
.if successfully implemented UBI would be a gigantic step in realizing the aspiration of Mahatma Gandhi of “wiping every tear from every eye”.
DIGITAL INDIA----
Digital India has been one of the flagship programs of the present government which has built in focus towards empowering the people through technology intervention in various fields.which not only include ICT(information and communication technologies) for creating awareness, but also a robust infrastructure which will enhance the effectiveness of the governance.
it is an umbrella program working under the department of electronics and information technology(DeITY),launched in 2015 by PM Modi. The main aim of digital India with motto “power to empower” is the transformation of India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge enabled economy, leveraged by IT as its growth engine.major objectives of the campaign are-increase in digital literacy, establishing digital infrastructure and delivery of services electronically.
it encourages usage of digital medium for the common utilities like communication, paying bills,tele-education,grievance redressal. This will bring down cost of governance,red-tapism,corruption,and increase transparency in the system and thus ensuring time bound delivery of the services. The electronic transactions will boost tax compliance & reduce black money also reducing fiscal deficit of the govt.
However,Insecure Indian cyberspace, low digital literacy, lack of internet infrastructure, absence of piracy and data protection laws are some of the obstacles in path of this campaign which need to be sorted out promptly.there is also a need of changing social mindset and create awareness among people about digital mediums.
The success of this program would ensure inclusive and decentralized growth, with increased job opportunities and improved livelihoods. Thus this initiative has potential to live up to the expectation of "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas" as technology is greatest leveler.
GST ka ek saal ho gaya..july me anniversary h shayad..aur related bhi h most of post se cgl ke...(bas thode latest data/conclusions nahi h isme prepared fr ib-acio)
Termed as biggest reform in India's indirect tax structure,GST(goods and service tax) bill was introduced in parliament by finance minister with the objective of making India into "one unified national market".it has been later notified as 101st constitutional amendment act after being passed in both the houses of parliament and assent of the president.
Presently, both central and state govts levy separate indirect taxes which fall under their respective domain. This fractured mandate of taxation between them leads to the cascading effect, the tariff and non-tariff barriers between states hinder the free flow of trade increasing complexity and decreasing compliance.
All these issues necessitated for one tax that will mitigate such problems and was named as GST.it comprises of the Central GST, the State GST,Integrated GST and a GST council which will fix the tax rates, and work out the modalities for implementation of the tax.
But roll out has not been smooth.Several GST council meetings have failed to reach a consensus on contentious issues such as tax rates,Compensation to states for loss of tax revenue, goods and services to be exempted etc.
GST has many merits over existing tax regime such as creation of a common national market, preventing cascading of taxes, harmonization of laws and procedures, improving compliance, reducing corruption, boosting manufacturing and export giving impetus to ‘Make in India’,generating employment etc.
it has all the ingredients of a modern, seamless taxation system. But success depends on how effectively it is implemented.it will not only be a great reform in the direction of betterment of economy but will also promote unity of country in financial sphere.
