Last day,when i put out my thoughts on general policy failure of NDA 2,some of u were visibly upset.IN my case,I shall still vote for bjp in 2019,just because I dont see an option in Rahul Gandhi or Kejriwal,Mamata etc , as my PM.But unless there is healthy criticism of policies,the govt will start thinking it is doing all right,when reality is otherwise.And apart from that ,the current tenure of the govt has crossed 4 years,so it has taken 80% of the time available.
The first policy failure of this govt is in education sector. Adequate revision of syllabus,opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas,new govt colleges,new universities for higher education,reforms in technical education,reforms in recruitment processes-all these were expected,not by me in dreams,but because Modi told of all these in his pre2014 speeches.But he did absolutely nothing,and only tried to push extra fees on Institutes of National Importance.and apart from that,this govt even tried to reduce attempts and age limits in exams like NEET,which was anyway quashed by Delhi High court.
Second policy failure is in national security.Literally too much of chest thumping and boasting around Doklam success and such other minor gains,when in reality,illegal bangladeshis and Rohingyas are entering and settling in india as if our nation is their ancestral property.Jammu state is now filled with around 1 lakh rohingyas.And Rohingyas are a population who have been driven out of Myanmar,and even an islamic Bangladesh is not willing to accept them.And Modi has welcomed not 1,2 but around 1 lakh rohingya refugees.addition of extra battalions of bsf,strengthening of river police,electric fencing of international border are things expected ,and Modi only gave a surgical strike,which bjp boasts of till date.I guess Rajnath Singh as Union Home Minister is a pulldown for Modi here,but I am not voting bjp seeing Rajnath,i am voting for bjp seeing PM Modi.Hence if Modi cant control internal lobbies in bjp,that is not my problem,and neither is it the problem of any voter.And then the maoist problem.When Mamata Banerjee came to power in bengal (2011),she removed all traces of maoism from the state in just 6 months,by heavily deploying police and crpf agnst Maoists .hence if Modi also had the will,he could have removed Maoism by now.But probably there are deeper politics at play here.
The third policy failure is in lack of Hindutva.BJP has this strange habit of neglecting its core voterbase and its intrinsic ideology,whenever it comes to power.Note that Congress never ignores the same,ie,its ideals of secularism,minority appeasement,gandhian mentality etc.And when bjp comes to power,it adopts congress lines.Hindutva for me lies in UCC,repealing of RTE,freeing of temple funds from bureaucracy,or atleast bringing nonHindu religious funds under govt monitoring,ensuring a policy of pilgrimage to important shrines,and many such things.But the govt is more interested in 'Ek Haath Quran&Ek Haath Computer' ideology.
Fourth policy failure is in law&order reforms.Modi govt raised all the right slogans,ie,all existing judicial vacancies need to be filled up,new courts need to come,existing judicial process needs to be digitised and so on.And in reality it has done nothing.day by day work in govt is increasing,and this govt,instead of filling up the vacant posts ,is abolishing them.without the minimum manpower,work cannot be done,because humans cant work 24 hours a day.3 crore cases are pending in our courts,because of lack of judges ,infrastructure,computerisation etc. And then comes police reforms,& vacancies in security forces.India is far short of adequate manpower in Paramilitary and police forces,RPF ,bsf,coastal security,river police. but as per the current govt policies are concerned,it seems this govt will try to make 1 security personnel do the work of 10.
The fifth policy failure is in healthcare sector.in his 2018 budget speech,Jaitley suddenly realised the need to build up 200 new hospitals+medical colleges,where free treatment would be provided to the poor,and he announced a universal health insurance coverage as well.But instead of universal health insurance,what is really reqd is a robust network of new govt hospitals,preferably one in each district,where the poor would get all forms of treatment,like dialysis,complex surgeries,free of cost.Jaitley did realise the need,but only in 2018,when it should have been started in 2014 itself.
a few more policy failures of this govt can be highlighted,but i dont wish to make it any longer.
