At Pagalguy, we are forbidden to make any direct comparisons among colleges. And to tell u frankly, ur field of interest makes the right choice for u.
Regarding placements, U can compare the figures given at the respective sites.
If u have relevant work-ex, SIOM can be very good for for career prospects.
But again, am a fresher from Comp. Sc. background and have chosen SIOM over other IT related colleges. So it actually boils down to ur interest as I said.

Your understanding on each of these i.e Marketing, Finance n Operations will help u take a wise decision..
Read about them n wat lies in store once you pass out n which ever makes sense n is where you want to be, go for it :)

Although it's not in line with PG rules to compare the two institutes, yet I would like to throw some light.
It depends entirely on your choice of field in which you want to pursue your MBA. As far SIOM, is concerned, you shouldn't have any problem in going to any sector because we have companies from a wide range of sectors coming to campus for final placements. This is primarily because Operations is involved in almost every field.
There are many students in my batch (more than 5 at least) who opted for SIOM over SITM last year. You can contact Rohit Kaul, Kanchan Tale, Ritesh Powar etc. (don't remember all the names now) on Orkut community of our batch to know about their opinions because they had converted both SIOM and SITM last year.

No, as you have already got the acceptance letter and you signed and sent back to siom. that itself is your offer letter. it has all the details of joining, date etc.....
come with the reciept while joining.

it's simple actually.......if you are interested in operations, take up SIOM...one of the best in india to do operations. if you want to go for marketing and finance in the telecom industry, go for SITM...one of the best telecom b-schools in india too.
the thing is, both the colleges are very reputed in their fields. i am in the merit list of both SIOM and SITM (mkt n fin), same situation as yours.....and i am taking up SITM....coz i'm interested in marketing...choice is based on your interest.

This querry has been answerd by one of the seniors. I'll re-quote it for you-
Frens I think its mentioned on website n prospectus that u can cancel ur admission till commencement of classes n only 1000Rs will be deducted n rest will b refunded. Any time u want to cancel before june, u can contact college n u will be helped with further steps to be taken.
As for refund it might take 2-4 weeks approx.

As we all are coming to Nashik I would request you to please guide about the necessary documents we need to carry at the time of admission.
- Accommodation :Our course commences from 1 June, so does that mean we could stay in hostel early i mean on 30 and 31 May ( as we would be landing on those days)
- Second installment : We have already payed the first installment of 1.65 L..however we need to arrange money for 2nd installment. May I know when is the last date of payment of 1.55 L (as per earlier posts it is put up in college notice board) ?
- Education Loans : I know that it is a very meticulous process to figure out which bank loan is most affordable relative to our financial conditions. My request to the seniors is to please guide us with the best deals. ( in earlier posts Varun did mention about the local banks providing loans with very low interest rates as compared to PSU banks..If it is realiable ).
I would really appreciate if you could throw some light on this as most of you must have gone through this process and must be knowing about the pros and cons
- Laptop Deals : As it is advisiable to have a laptop with suitable configuration matching with requirement/necessasity and the service availablity (Nashik Location). I am sure this analysis must have carried out by most seniors, thereby would request you to plaese guide in this regard.

It's nice to see you all researching but this given list is just the elective subjects. It doesnt tell about any specialization per say. So you have lot of time to come n decide after attending the first two sems!

Accommodation : You will have to check up as pest control and all is carried out at that time. We were allowed to come just one day before.
Second Installment: October end. Date i cant remember! Will ask others.
Education Loans: No idea about that. Will ask Varun to post.
Laptop Deals: As i already said, SIOM admin plays no role in it, and its the students who take an initiative and plan for a deal.
