yeah....generally the interview process takes place 2 days....so plan out accordingly...this means if you have got your interview on say 19th then reach here by 18th evening latest and plan your return journey on 20th....I guess the same will be intimated in your call letter.....
as far as acco is concerned.....I don't think your acco will be arranged by the institute because we guys will be there in the hostel to greet you all in TAPMI....in our case the interviews were in the month of april as the CAT was rescheduled in feb and our senies were busy in there summer projects.....but you guys "DO NOT WORRY AT ALL" as far as accomodation is concerned as manipal has got lots of good hotels which will make your stay a pleasant one here...I guess in your call letter itself the list of hotels will be provided.....so do not worry about all these issues....think about how to get into TAPMI

hii... my gd/pi date is 18th feb... can someone plz elaborate... on the different stages of selection? there will be gd n pi... extempore, case study etc too? i need recommendation letters? this is more complicated than i initially thought.

Had a call 4m tapmi last year but could not convert it. hope 2 do so atleast this year. my GD/PI date is on 21st Feb. Here's a brief summary of the entire process as done last year.
There are 6-7 panels on the date of GD/PI, first one hour is introduction 2 tapmi, followed by GD. Last year GD was on a case srudy, some HR prob at a pharma company. this is followed by a Psychometric test, similar 2 the one we did at CL, this is followed by a extempore speech for 2-3 mins, 3 topics are given and we have 2 choose one. then comes the main panel interview, questions are the standard ones, and some specifics regarding ur subjects and related to work ex if u have any.
this is followed by a written essay on "I" i.e candidates have to write about themselves etc.
then comes a 3-5 mins final interview wid the senior faculty of tapmi.
this sums up the entire process. in case anyone from mumbai has the GD/PI on 21st do mail me

hi guys....I will say surya has perfectly described the selection procedure....no need to further elaborate on that....as far as reaching here late at night is concerned.....manipal is not very far from udupi railway station and you can always get an auto to come here....or there are good hotels in udupi itself....so no need to worry......or see if you can come by flight to mangalore from mumbai....than the night problem will be solved....but that again depends on the cost you are ready to incur....anyways....all these things are not that important to give so much deliberation....think to convert the call and get finally to TAPMI

cud u plz tell me wat cud be the cutoff for tapmi this time....coz last uyear ppl got calls at 76 %ile and this time i din't have a call at 82.6%ile....
with break up of 90.xx%ile in quant......heard dat they give more weightage to quant....

see as far as getting the call letters is concerned.....I can only say that you never know why or why not you get the call....the luck factor has a lot of role to play....do not be disheartened if you could'nt get the call....as it is rightly said.....CAT is always unpredictable and so are the results.....I do not think there will be any further list for GD/PI

i think u have 2 options ..either come to Mumbai and go to Manipal by train(udupi station) or ypu can go by bus. there may be buses going to mangalore from pune itself...cos udupi is on the way to mangalore.
i am just curious; is their a pattern in assigning interview dates to candidates...is it percentiles...grad sub jects...roll no etc

I got a call frm TAPMI n my gd/pi id on 16th..........i gotta %ile of 91.23.so wat r the chances ......do they take ppl wid this low %ile....n i wanted to know about the topics for extempore....wat kinda topics they give?
n this time they have asked to plan the stay for two days ?......So the whole procedur won't be completed in one day???

first things first congrats from getting the call from TAPMI...your percentile is not less....its decent....do well in other left out selection parameters and you can be in....extempore topics?....well I can say it can be anything under the sun....read between the lines.....beauty paegants....smoking....wto anything....so do not think much on that....as far as procedure lasting for 2 days is concerned...its just a routine and do not see much through it....for most of the candidates its like that only....second day you have to face an interview with our director sir and deans....and have to submit a write up on why you want to join TAPMI or why MBA etc...its a 1 page write up....do not worry and do well
