my take on cutoff : 1. based on vacancies announced: last year there were 77 vacancies in general and this year it is decreased by only 4. it is OBC's who will be affected more as their vacancies have been decreased from 52 to 39. similarly last year PH candidates had 12 vacancies reserved for them but this year its been decreased to 4. so all in all , i can say there wont be much affect on GENERAL category cutoff due to the decreased total no of vacancies. it could affect max by 1 mark.
2. based on paper difficulty and participants preparedness : 2015 paper was cakewalk for many. people without much preparation could easily answer many of the management questions. but in 2016 there were many factual based questions which could be answered only by people who are well prepared with their concepts. last year there was a decrease in overall cutoff by almost 20 marks and FM paper was the reason for it. ESI paper has been the same consistenly for all the 3 years. FM i feel this year is almost similar to last year. though a person is well versed with concepts there were many questions which arose a confusion between 2 options.i dont think it would be easy for people who prepare for finance and management specifically after phase 1. most of them were analytical and conceptual based questions. even numericals were almost similar to last year. many people were unaware of rule 72(people who knew it ,i would consider them as people who have solved last year numericals). without calculator most of the questions were difficult to solve. so i would say FM average could be the same as last year. Many aspirants were well prepared with all types of numericals related to ratios and derivatives. but the paper surprised most of us. this year cutoff could increase a bit due to ESI paper. there could be an increase in 5 marks maximum due to it.
3. external factors- this is mere speculation. most of the people who attend interviews are either upsc aspirants or bank professionals. but majority would be upsc aspirants. considering this year upsc prelims and phase 1 almost clashed with each other, there could be decrease in attendance as a serious upsc aspirant would never take a chacne to give an exam exactly a day before prelims that too going far from his place. But still had they attempted and cleared phase 1- phase 2 was after prelims and they could manage a hell lot of time for preparation or they might even relax a lot as they were done with their prelims. so i dont think it could affect the cutoff drastically but if many people refrained from attempting phase 1 it could affect cutoff.
FINALLY CONSIDERING ALL THE FACTORS MENTIONED ABOVE, i could see a max +5 increase in cutoff. and if the 3rd factor turns out to be true expect another 1 or 2 marks decrease . so finally it could be around 228-230 for general. OBC cutoff could be more than 220.
Hello folks !Need some valuable suggestions. What are the best study materials available in the market for RBI Grade B ??I can manage the GA part since I have already started following a page where I can get my daily dose of news. But the ESI and FM papers are really a pain in the ass since I have no idea (literally) in these subjects. Kindly suggest some good materials for these two papers.
Some important points:1. Handwritten notes of these subjects in printed form would make things quite easier.2. Online materials are okay but all the coursework or the detailed info should be part of a single book or a single series of books written in a concise manner. Studying from a variety of books doesnt seem feasible at the moment.

Done with Interview. And got to the know reason behind Candidates not sharing their interview experience. The interview co-ordinator at my centre clearly stated that please don't share your interview experiences till 13th Oct. As the competition is cut-throat and can make/break the results by a few marks, so very few wants to discuss it in public :P
By the way, my interview went kinda average. It was mainly focussed on my Work-Experience and current situation of our economy.
