i think you should not even think. if you have interest in joining army then go for CDS. nothing will come close to the life of an armyman.
@trvg thank you so much for ur suggestion.. tats my wish too.. i've to convince my parents..

guys the petitioner has filed the case in lower court....what will happen if he loses the case and appeals to supreme court?....there will be further delay....

hi guys, I've been selected for RBI assistant. I am also color-blind(red-green color blindness to be precise). In the Ishihara(color bubbles) test used by eye doctors to identify this, my score never crosses 2 or 3(out of 18 or 36 in total).

I applied for this post after reading the detailed advertisement on RBI site as well as newspaper. Neither specified any color vision standards. Nothing in connection to this was raised even during the interview stage.

I've been following this thread for a while now but only posted now since some of you mentioned color blindness tests as part of the medical examination.

I request those members to shed some more light on this. I've heard that some banks like SBI ignore this, since it affects atleast 1 in every 12 people(around 7% of population) and does not pose a serious handicap in discharging of duty(color-blind people can distinguish between most colors except those in regions of overlap, for instance, distinguishing lime green from dark yellow, so in daily life, many people grow up not knowing they are color-blind.)

Would really appreciate it if anyone working in a nationalised bank could provide first-hand information on this issue. I hope you guys see my predicament.

P.S.I have a medical certificate saying that I can perform work that does not require color discrimination. Would that help?

catsmasher dnt wry bro...doc will take sum extra fees and will give the correct report. This is what happened with many guys who were found to be colour blind during boi medical. Nobody gets rejected in medical due to colour blindness.
Please take note that 'the extra fees' may vary depending upon the criticality of the problem. Hope u got me.

@xalokx

Thanks for the reply. Don't know whether similar doctors will come for RBI also or if RBI has its own docs. Do you think calling up RBI(anonymously of course) and enquiring will give a better idea? I am confounded by the fact that banks provide RESERVATIONS for totally blind people but can trip you up because you can't distinguish between dark orange and light brown.
@catsmasher which region u got selected
@abhiabhiabhi
TN
@catsmasher ok r u working somewhere

catsmasher dnt kno much abt rbi docs...but one thing is sure if the doc is corrupt then he will take money n if he is not then he'l do it for free..just request him. They also know that how imp someone's career is. Dnt wry everythng will be fine.
