I hope that happens! I cleared the cut off this time but the score turned out to be not convincing enough to get me a seat. Waiting desperately for the next recruitment. Thanks anyway for the reply.

its a good news anyways the procedure would start only after this batch (grade b included) has completed the joining , but as per the staff association the recruitments will continue well into 4 yrs from now ! and the nummbers may increase next yr ..

@kdas12aug no not yet .. the person who informed me was the secretary of assistant staff association ,, moreover he was happy that his "army" will get new "comrades" ! so i couldnt ask abt grade B even if i wished to...

@skars no dear. i called today but they are not sure abt the joining date. they asked me to call after 10 days... so mumbai people a long waiting still is there

got a call from RBI chd yesterday. they said they have posted final appoint letters and i am to report to the office before 9.30AM on 10th december! they said dont be late even by a minute on the first day. they said we should get the letters by wednesday and even if we dont get it, we should report on 10th december.

i have heard that there will be a last grade B recruitment and then they will recruit officers only through grade A, source is an assistant maneger in rbi kolkata

from where have you heard this info. the man from whom i heard the news regarding grade B recruitment also said that the future is very bright for these assistants they will be promoted to grade B in 7-8 years.

@lowdown :dont know about which kind of recruitment will be adopted in future ,but to the best of my knowledge a grade a officer in RBI can progress to grade b in 4-5 years ...it most probably takes about 7-8 years to get promoted to grade b from assisstant post and not grade a post....grade A in RBI is one notch better than PO ,but slughtly less than a scale 2 officer in Bank ,just like RBI assisstant post is better compared to clerk in a bank ,but less better compared to po...however the name RBI speaks a lot in itself irrespective of whichever position a person is in....

i met 3 people who had just been selected for grade B when i went for medical. was told that there are 80 selections from all over india and posting can also be anywhere. i was told that the paper is not too difficult or based on knowledge of economics.
during the visit to complete paperwork i was advised by one of the employees to try for Grade B exam. he said that it will advance career by 8-10 years and also that direct recruit grade B are given priority and more importance over those promoted from lower grades.
