Hey guys it will be really helpful if someone can get some info about the accommodation facilities from RBI, i.e. when will that be provided (on joining /after probation), how is quality of the quarters, and if somebody doesn't want to avail it will there be any substantial allowance for the same.
Please, it will be great if anyone can get any info from ones sources in RBI.

Guys, dont ever compare Civil service exams with any other. Nothing can come close to that. The proportion of number of candidates applying to the number of post may be high in the case of RBI Grade B officer. But still nothing can come close to the versatility and complexity in syllabus and pattern. And the scope for a civil servant is very high, as the run the whole system of state govts. and central govt. This is not an argument, just info regarding civil service for people thos who dont know abt it. At the same time, RBI Grade B Officer is tough and the job comes with a very good package which costs RBI 10 lac/year. But, you could clear prelims of Grade B, if ur time management is good and if u could complete the paper. The mains papers needs preparation and little writing practice. 
@lowdown at least not money...........red lamp car is the mark of prestige and responsibility..... m not looking down on the jobs RBI offers ...all i wanted to say in the first place was that the exam pattern of UPSC is far tougher than that for RBI's any position
@kdas12aug Hi, if u analyse this is the Advt. of 1st mar. 2012 ok so it means that it is the salary structure of Feb month ok see, In March second week Cent. Govt. has increased DA from 58% to 65% then in sept. again 7% hike in DA so it will be 72% now onwards so it will definately will give us something around Rs. 1200 or 1300 extra. Inshort 14% hike on basic in DA what u say share all.....
@maddy2742 sir the degree of tough ness doesnt only make an exam tough, the number of vacancies and people applying for it is also a huge factor to be considered.......IAS has near about 1000 posta whereas rbi grade b has vacancies to the tune of 60 - 8- after 2-3 years

@AwasthiusCesar you r wrong dear,as many people don't aspire for rbi.... in upsc iit & iim graduates fill the form and appear for exam ....besides that rbi mains syll. is very small as comapre to upsc....no of seats can't determine which exam s tougher, then in railway or some dept exams has 1 or 2 vacancies, max 10 ......then those exams r tougher than rbi or upsc.....i am telling u a statement of rbi dgm as he told me ...rbi grade b is toughest exam to clear after upsc .....!! and take my one point as upsc covers a lot, it will give u opportunity to knw india & her people, culture, economics ..everything ..n the way ias officers gets training & felicitation by president n pm is an awesome feeling fr any guy ..n ias doesn't have 1000 seats ..it has hardly 100 seats ...upsc exam has in total 1000 seats ...& in that few jobs are not that good bt ias/ips/ifs/irs r def. better than rbi in every aspect. ask any rbi employee he will also admit that ...:)
