6) 2 oranges, 3 bananas and 4 apples cost Rs. 15. 3 oranges, 2 bananas and 1 apple cost Rs. 10. I bought 3 oranges, 3 bananas and 3 apples. How much did I pay?
7) John bought 5 mangoes and 10 oranges together for Rs. 40. Subsequently, he returned 1 mango and got 2 oranges in exchange. The price of an orange would be:
1) Rs. 1 2) Rs. 2 3) Rs. 3 4) Rs. 4
16) The total expenses of a boarding house are partly fixed and partly varying linearly with the number of boarders. The average expense per boarder is Rs. 700 when there are 25 boarders and Rs. 600 when there are 50 boarders. What is the average expense per boarder when there are 100 boarders.
1. Find the maximum value of n such that 50! is perfectly divisible by 2520^n 2. Find the maximum value of n such that 50! is perfectly divisible by 12600^n 3. find the number of divisors 0f 1080 excluding the through out divisors which are perfect squares
1. 2520=2^3*3^2*5*7
Too find n..we need to find the highest power of the factors in 50! for eg.to find it for 2^3.. ++++=47 sinc it is 2^3..so n==15 sly, find for 3^2...u'll get n=11 .. in dis way for 7 u'll get n=8 You ned to take the value for which n comes out to be the smallest i.e. here n=8
2. Do the same process as bfore ans will be n=6
3. 1080=2^3*3^3*5 So we have: (2^0,2^1,2^2,2^3) (3^0,...,3^3) (5^0,5^1) To find the factors which are prfect sqrs. we take even powers of the primes..ie.(2^0,2^2) (3^0,3^2) 5^0 thus total=2*2*1=4 Total no.of all typ factrs of 1080=(4*4*2)=32 Thus..no.of factrs dat r not perfect sqrs=32-4=28
Q. Each of A,B and C need a certain unique time to do a certain work.C needs 1 hr less than A to complete the work.Working together, they require 30 minutes to complete 50% of the job.The work also gets completed if A and B start working together and A leaves after 1 hr and B works for further 3 hrs.How much work does C do per hour?
Q. The weight of an iron bucket increases by 33.33% when filled with water to 50% of its capacity. Which of these may be 50% of the weight of the bucket when it is filled with water( assume the weight of bucket and its capacity in kg to be integers? 1. 7 kg 2. 6 kg 3. 5 kg 4. 8 kg

1) A cloth merchant cheats his supplier n his customer to the tune of 20% while buying n selling cloth respectively. He professes to sell at the CP but also offers a disc. of 20% on cash payment, what is his overall P% ?
a) 20%, b) 25%, c) 40%, d) 15%
2) A dealer offers a cash disc. of 20% n still makes a profit of 20%, when he further allows 160 articles when the customer buys 120. How much % aboce the CP were his wares listed.
a) 100%, b) 80%, c) 75%, d) 66(2/3)%
3) A train approaches a tunnel AB. Inside this, a cat is located at a point that is 2/5th the distance AB measured from the entrance A. When the train blows whistle, the cat runs. If the cat moves to the entrance of the tunnel, A, the train catches the cat exactly at the entrance. If the cat moves to the exit B, the train catches the cat exactly at the exit. The speed of the train is greater than the speed of the cat by what order?
a) 3:1, b) 4:1, c) 5:1, d) None
4) Every day Asha's husband meets her at the city railway station at 6PM and drives her to their home. One day she left office earlier n reached station at 5 PM. She started walking 2wards her home, met her husband on the way. and reached home 10 min earlier than the ususal time. For how long did she walk?
a) 1 hour, b) 50 min, c) 1/2 hour, d) 55 min
5) A man buys spirit at Rs. 60/lit, adds water to it n then sells it at Rs. 75/lit. What is the ratio of spirit to water if his profit in the deal is 37.5%

a) 100%, b) 80%, c) 75%, d) 66(2/3)%
1)let the merchant by 5 pieces of clothes at 100 (20 each) now actually he buys 6 pieces @100 now original c.p = 6*20 = 120 he jacks up the price to 144 rs offers 20% on 144 i.e s.p = 115.2 so overall p = 115.2 - 100 /100 = 15.2% option d?
2) profit = goods left/goods sold * 100 = 40/ 120 * 100 = 33.33% so total profit = 20 +33 1/3 + (20*33 1/3)/100 = 60 % this is his profit after discount of 20% so MRP = 200 hence option a)100 %?

a) 3:1, b) 4:1, c) 5:1, d) None Let the distance be 5
Cat will move 2 then train moves x say
When train will move x+5 cat will move 3 Hence actually by ratio train should move 1.5X

Hi shanks4mba,
The 2nd answer is correct, but one confusion... How did MRP come as 200? For the 1st one I need to chek, dont remember the answer... wud chek it in the evenign only, m in ofic now ;) Thanks for the solutions :)

No concept that's just a ratio and so it is always better to take a arbitrary value you can take 10 also 100 also easiest will be to take a value of 5 Hope it clears your doubt
