Q. There's a natural number that becomes equal to the square of a natural number when 100 is added to it and to the square of another natural number when 169 is added to it. Find the number.

N+100 = a^2
N + 169 = b^2
b^2 - a^2 = 69 = > (b+a)(b-a) = 23*3
we get b = 13 and a = 10. or b = 35 and a = 34
we get N = 1056
Someone please answer my questions:

Q11)a number xy is multiplied by another no ab and the result comes as pqr, where r=2y, q=2(x+y) and p=2x where x,y11
13
31
22

Q12) denotes the greatest integer value just below x and {x} its fractional value. The sum of ^3 and{x}^2 is -7.91. find x.
-2.03
-1.97
-2.97
-1.7
Thanks.

1)
take x = y = 1
p = q = r = even no
pqr = XQX form which can be 242 , 484 ....

so 22 will only satisfy

2)
solve by options
-1.7 = -2 + .3
-2 ^ 3 + .3 ^2 = -8 + .09 = 7.91 so ans option d
Thanks.

(10x+y)*(10a+b)= 100ax+10(ay+bx)+by
= 100p + 10q + r

hence on solving ab=22

As the number is negative then ^ 3 must be negative as {x} ^2 cant be negative. The nearest integer for -7.91 is -8. Hence the integral part is () -2. Hence the number must be -1.ab... type. Now we need 0.09 for {x}2. Hence {x} must be 0.3. Hence the number is -1.7.
Tell me if this helps.

It means that you need to find the sum of digits of the result that you get after multiplying.

Like 4x9 = 36, sum of digits is 9

2n+13 = 2 ( n+7) - 1

If we put x + 7 = y then we need to find out GCD of y and 2y-1 which should be 1.

Hi guys i need help for the following questions:

1) 2 planes are moving along circle of circumference 1.2 km with constant speed. when they move in different directions they meet every 15 secs and when they move in same direction one plane overtakes other every 60 secs. find the speed of the slower plane
1) 0.04km/s 2) 0.03 km/s 3) 0.05 km/s 4) 0.02 km/s

2) karim leaves ellora on a bicycle,havinng travelled 1.5 hrs at 16 km/h, he makes a stop for 1.5 hr and then pedals on with same speed.4 hrs after karim started his friend rahim leaves ellora on motorcycle and rides with a speed of 28 km/h in same direction of karim.what distance will they cover before rahim overtakes karim.

1) 88 km 2)90.33 km 3) 93.33 km 4) none of these

1) 88 km 2)90.33 km 3) 93.33 km 4) none of these

When Rahim starts, distance travelled by Karim is
16*1.5+0*1.5+1*16= 40km
If Rahim catches him after time t then
16*t + 40 = 28*t
=> t = 40/12

Hence distance travelled by Rahim = 28*40/12 = 280/3 = 93.33
Ans is 3) 93.33

Suppose v1 and v2 are the speeds with v1 > v2 in Km/s

given,

(v1+v2) * 15 = 1.2
(v1-v2) * 60 = 1.2

hence
v1 + v2 = 4 ( v1-v2)
=> v1 = (5/3) v2

Hence [ (5/3) v2 - v2 ] * 60= 1.2
=> (2/3) v2 * 60 = 1.2
=> v2 = 1.2/40 = 0.03km/s

Hence 2) 0.03 km/s is the answer

1.(32^32^32)/9 leaves a remainder of :
a.4 B.7 c.1 d.2

Ans d.2

32^32^32 = (2^5)^32^32/9 leaves a remainder of 2.

is it necessary to do ny book e.g. arun sharma?? i mean are the time material mock cats and simcats suffice, for the the prep 4 quantz?

Hi All,

I have a question related to Time and Speed topic of Arun sharma. The question is in LOD-2. Question number being 33.

Questn: Ravi caught a train for home earlier than usual yesterday.His wife picks him up everyday. But yesterday, he set out on foot to meet his wife on the way.He reached home 12 mins earlier than he would if he had waited for his wife at station.The car travels at uniform speed which is 5 times Ravi's speed on foot. Ravi reached home at 6 o ' clock. At what time would he have reached home if his wife, forewarned of his plan, had met him at station.

Plz provide the explanation for the same.

Suppose speed of Ravi is v and he walked for time t mins.
speed of Ravi's wife = 5v.
from first condition ravi saved 12 mins by walking. it means that if he has covered distance d then his wife would have covered 2d (going from the meeting point to the station and coming back) in 12 mins.
hence (2 * v * t)/ 5v = 12 mins => t = 30 mins.
It means ravi has walked for 30 mins. this distance can be covered by his wife in car in 30/5 = 6 mins.
hence if his wife was at station when ravi arrived, they could have saved 30-6 = 24 mins and he could have reached by 5:36 o'clock.
