Hi friend, Can anyone help me solve this problem
Find the remainder when ((50)^51)^52 is divided by 11.
a)6 b)4 c)7 d) 3
((50)^51)^52mod 11
applying ferrets theorem
50^10mod11= 1
now 51^52mod10 = 1
hence 50mod11 = 6
option a
It takes 6 days for 3 women and 2 men working together to complete a work.3 men would do the same work 5 days sooner than 9 women. How many times does the output of a man exceed that of a woman?
1] 3 times
2] 4 times
3] 5 times
4] 6 times
5] 7 times
answer is 6 times
kindly confirm.....
I have solved it using eqn....if smone has a short method
kindly post.
Hi friend, Can anyone help me solve this problem

As u have to divide it by 11...a prime no....
divide the power by 11-1 = 10 and put the remainder as power of 50
so here 51^52 rem whn divided by 10 is 1
and 50^1 divided by 11 , remainder is 6
hence ans 6

We can do this by solving by the options. If we take it as option 2, 4 times, then this statement
3 men would do the same work 5 days sooner than 9 women
can be translated into, 12 women (3*4) can do the same work 5 days sooner than 9 women (You can also see by this logic, option 1 is automatically disqualified, as it'll read, 9 women complete in 5 less days than 9 women :)) Now, the LCM of 12 and 9 is 36, so the total units of work has to be multiples of 36. If it's taken as 36, 12 women complete in 3 days and 9 women in 4 days.... thus, a difference of only 1 day. If we take the units to be 36*5 = 180, 12 women can do in 15 days, 9 women in 20 days.... thus satisfying the criteria of "5 days sooner". Thus, we found the total units to be 180.
Moving to the first statement
It takes 6 days for 3 women and 2 men working together to complete a work
This can be interpreted as 3 women and 2*4 = 8 women complete 180 units in 6 days. Thus, work done by each woman = 180/11 = not an integer. Thus, this is not the option.
Solving for option 4, 6 times, the second stmt would read as "18 women work in 5 days lesser than 9 women". Using similar logic, we can find the units of work as 90 (18 women in 5 days, 9 women in 10 days). First stmt becomes, 3+12 = 15 women complete 90 units in 6 days, thus 90/15 = 6 units per woman = integer = answer :)
If you try solving for options 3 (5 times) and 5 (7 times), you won't be able to satisfy the second stmt, as the LCM of 15 and 9 is 45 and LCM of 21 and 9 is 63.
This method looks a bit lengthy but if you understand this concept, it should be really quick, without the use of any equations.

Q.
Each of A,B and C need a certain unique time to do a certain work.C needs 1 hr less than A to complete the work.Working together, they require 30 minutes to complete 50% of the job.The work also gets completed if A and B start working together and A leaves after 1 hr and B works for further 3 hrs.How much work does C do per hour?
1] 16.66%
2] 33.33%
3] 50%
4] 66.66%

Q.
Mini and Vinay are quiz masters preparing for a quiz.In 'x' minutes, Mini makes 'y' questions more than Vinay. If it were possible to reduce the time needed by each to make a question by 2 mins, then in 'x' minutes Mini would make '2y' questions more than Vinay. How many questions does Mini make in 'x' minutes?
1] 1/4[ 2(x+y) - ( 2 x^2 + 4 y^2 )^1/2 ]
2] 1/4[ 2(x-y) - ( 2 x^2 + 4 y^2 )^1/2 ]
3] Either option 1 or 2
4] 1/4[ 2(x-y) - ( 2 x^2 - 4 y^2 )^1/2 ]
easy problem but i doubt the answer given in text buk...so want to confirm
A machine depriciates in value each year at the rate of 10% of its previous value.however every second year there is some maintenance work so that in the particular year depriciation is only 5% of its previous value .if at the end of the fourth year the value of the machine stands at rs 146205 then find the value of machine at the start of the first year.:splat:

You've posted the same question in atleast three different threads including this one. Please post in any one thread where you think your query is relevant (according to the thread title) and it'll be answered soon. If even after some time, no one answers, you can post the link of that post in some other thread, rather than repeating the same post over and over in different threads.

dekh yaar seedhi si baat hai....
Question 1.
Let Speed Of Faster Plane Be a, slower be b.
now when moving in same direction
let they meet at time t,
then at + bt = 1.2km
now t = 15 sec
so a+b = 1.2/15
Now when in opposite direction
let they meet at time T
distance moved by A,
1.2 + x = aT
x = bT
so T(a-b) = 1.2
T = 60 sec
a-b = 1.2/60
Solve for a and b

In 1 hour Ant covers 12m
Second hour covers distance -5m
Total distance in 2 hours...7m
whic menas in 16 hours it would be 56m
time taken to cover next 7m is 7/12 * 60 = 35min
thus 16 hrs 35min
