best possible way to solve these kinds of question is by using option

start with the option which is in the middle

Sorry,
% increase in sal . = ((15/8) - 1)/1 =7/8 approx 84.xx %
Apply x + 2x + (2x.x)/100 =approx 84 formula
x=25 satisfies....from options

the answer to salary problem is d

oct=a
nov=b
dec=c
a/b=1.5/1.333
or a/b=9/8
b/c=2/2.666
or b/c=3/4
a=9/8 * b
b=3/4 *c
or a=27/32 * c
c=40+a
or c=40+27/32 *c
or 5/32 * c=40
or c=256
a=216
b=192
a+b+c=664
bonus=40% of 664
or bonus=265.6

if p , q ,r are roots of equation x^3-3^x+11=0 then the equation whose roots are (p+q),(q+r),(r+s) is:

since it's a cubic equation..finding roots become very tough..is there any solution??

value of 'a' for which quadratic equation (1-2a)x^2-6ax-1=0 and ax^2-x+1=0 have atleast one root in common???

Is it 3^x or 3*x ?

Such questions are better done by using options.
if x-y = 12 * (x+y)
100(denominator of 12* (x+y)

den dey have written x/y= 14/11

anyone elaborate pls
A salseman gets commision on total sales at 9%. If the sale is exceeded by Rs 10,000 he gets additional comm as bonus of 3% on the excess of sales over 10,000. If he gets total comm of Rs 1380, then bonus recived is

soln

comm upto 10k =10,000 * 9/100 = 900

after 10k

comm bonus
9 : 3
3x: x

bonus = (1380-900)* 1/4= 120(ans)

how come 1/4 divided...??????

hey guys

Yes it is 62 & your approach is correct !

@[563226:mbajamesbond]

the answer should be 28
so before the last match his avg was 30
only this option satisfies nothing else
