76+3*8=100

youngest will be

Q 1 . x's age is 1/10th of y's present age. y's age will be the thrice of z's age after 10 years. If z's eighth b'day was celebrated 2 years ago. Then the present age of x must be ?

  1. 15 years

  1. 20 years

Here is the approach current age of Z= 10 (8+2 )

after 10 years it will be 20

and then Y= 20*3=60

so current age of y=60-10=50
and X is =1/10*50=5 yearss :)

Q . A year ago , Mohit was 4 times his son's age. In 6 years, his age will be 9 more than twice his son's age. What is the present age of the son?
  1. 10

  1. ;">9

  1. 20

  1. None of these

do by options here

9 is present

1 year ago it is 8 and hence his dad age is 8*4=32

now present age of dad is 33

and after 6 years Mohit will be 15 and His dad will be 15*2+9=39 and Option is correct
:)

Q . In an organizaation , the daily average wages of 20 illiterate employees is decreased from Rs. 25 to Rs. 10, thus the average salary of all the literate and illiterate employees is decreased by 10 per day. The no. of educated employees working in the organization are:
  1. 15
  2. 20
  3. 10

do it by ratio :

decrease in 15 will causing the overall decrease in 5 hence 5 is compensating with the some people which is included in overall 10 decrease hence

5:10 ::x=20 hence x=10

  1. 25

Q . Mr. Jagmohan calculated the average of 10 '3 digit no.' . But due to mistake he reversed the digits of a no and thus his average increased by 29.7 . The difference between the unit digit and hundred digit of that no. is
  1. 4
  2. 3
  3. 2

  1. Can't be determined.

Only possible case is 396

average increase is 29.7

hence overll increase is 297

so 297+99=396

u can keep on adding 99 but only this case is satisfied

A school having 270 students provides facilities for playing four games Cricket, Football, Tennis and Badminton. There are a few students in the school who do not play any of the four games. It is known that for every student in the school who plays at least N games, there are two students who play at least (N 1) games, for N = 2, 3 and 4. If the number of students who play all the four games is equal to the number of students who play none, then how many students in the school play exactly two of the four games?

Hi, i know the solution but i m using equation....need to know if it can be solved without the calculation by just using logic.....

Q. A team of woodcutters decided to harvest 216 metre cube of wheat in several days. For 1st three days they harvested estimated amount but then they started harvesting 8 metre cube more than the estimated amount. A day before the assignment was to be completed they had harvested total of 232 metre cube of wheat. What was the estimated amount.

from forth edition , Ch-3 Avergaes , LOD -III , Q 30

Thank You 😃

I am preparing for cat 2012....I have done the basics but I need to practice to increase my speed, so from where should I start the arun sharma book? I have heard LOD 3 is very difficult...should I do that?

unless the options are given, equation seems to be the only way of solving this. Other method, might be a hit n trial, but that'd be tedious ...

If options are given, we can straightaway use them to get the correct answer.
