Quant by Arun Sharma

yaar,
Answer for
1)"this is not possible "as per arun sharma's quant
2)42^3.

pls let me know if u can try q1 again.

Oh yes , Its was a mistake. The first case is not possible 😃
1144 = 8*11*13.
777 mod 8 = 1.
429 mod 6 = 3.
777 mod 11 = 7.
777 mod 13 = 10.
So, remainder would be of the form 8k+1 = 11p+7 = 13x+10. Now check with options for a number of that form.

Hi

Could you please help me in understanding the application of 'mod' in finding out the remainder or in other cases, if any.

I've tried understanding it online, but didn't work. Your help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Sachin

a)6kg b)4kg c(3kg)

please explain the process

sp = 4.4/kg at 10% profit on cp(x)

hence 110/100 * x = 4.4
x = 4/kg
cp = 4/kg

3.6 4.2
4
0.2 0.4
? kg 8 kg

hence ratio 1:2

since 8kgs of 4.2/kg sugar
therefore 4 kgs of 3.6/kg sugar.

CP of the mixture -> 1.1x = 4.4
=> x = 4.

3.6 ...... 4.2
.......4........
0.2 ...... 0.4

Ratio = 1:2.
When 2 is 8, then 1 would be 4.
Hence, 4kg.

OR.

4(x+8 ) = 3.6x + 33.6
=> x = 4.
M is a two digit number which has the property that the product of factorials of it's digit> sum of factorials of its digits. how many value of M exist?
1.56
2.64
3.63
4.None
Cpt: clearly numbers containing 0 or 1 won't satisfy above condition.My calculation indicate to 64 as answer,but in Arun sharma ans is 63. some1 clarify.
total 2 digit no =90
10,20,30...90=9, 11,21,31...91=9 12,13...19=8
ans=90-9-9-8=64.

22.. here the product = sum of the factorials :)

i guess u missed this 1

The answer is pretty simple

6C2 * 4C2 * 4! * 4!

alord got an order from a garment manufacturer for 480 denim shirts. He bought 12 sewing machines and appointed some expert tailors to do the job. However, many didn't report for duty. As a result,each of those who did,had to stitch 32 more shirts than originally planned by Alord,with equal distribution of work. How many tailors had been appointed earlier and how many had not reported for work?
(a) 12,4
(b) 10,3
(c) 10,4
(d) none of these

c is the answer....better to go with options
let original worker be 10 so they will do work equally like 480/10 = 48 denim jeans will be made by each of them but 4 didn't arrived so now 6 workers will make 480/6 = 80.

how many 3 digit even numbers can be formed such that if one of the digits is 5, the following digit must be 7?

The answer is 365. I have understood that 5 combinations can be 570, 572, 574, 576 and 578. But how other 360 combinations are formed. I have forgotten permutation and combination.

see here two cases will be formed:
Case I: when 5 is at 100's digit so 5 7 x here x can take 0,2,4,6,8 so 5 values.

Case II: when three digit number does not contain 5 so so unit digit can be used in 5 ways,
ten's digit in 9 ways excluding 5
and hundred's digit in 8 ways excluding 0,5

8*9*5 = 360

why is hundred's digit used in 8 way? It could have been used in 8 ways as well?
The number is 3 digit. 8 combos will be used since 0,5 are omitted. How dumb i am!
