the answer is 50%,pls show d entire process.
A dishonest dealer claims to sell a product at its cost price. He uses a counterfeit weight which is 20% less than the real weight.Further greed overtook him and he added 20% impurities to the product.Find the net profit per centage?
a)50%
b)44%
c)40%
pls do show the whole process
Lets say the person has 100kg of the product at Re1/kg.
Now he added 20% impurities. So, the total quantity of product = 120kg.
Now he weighs 80kg as 100kg. So, 120kg would be weighed as 100*120/80 = 150kg.
This would be sold at cost price i.e. Re1/kg = Rs 150.
So, the profit = 50%
Hope that clears the doubt.
my take is option C.....
what is the OA????///

Buddy sometimes there are problems while posting and multiple posts are added due to that. Its unintentional and there is no point spreading the groans around for that. I assume you didnt know that and hence I'm not using the groan button on your post.

total product =100kg ...........at cost price 100kg
added 20% impurities =120 kg
now lets say 100 kg...he sell at 100 rs.
120 will show as
100...........120
120............120/100*120 = 144 kg
144 kg ......he will sell at 144rs.
but actually it cost him only 100
so 144-100/100*100 = 44% gain My take

lets say 1000gms has CP of Rs 100
after adding 20% (of 1000gm) impurity, product's weight =1200gms
now 800 gms is being sold at Rs 100 (due to counterfeited weights)
so 1200 (total product) is sold at Rs 150 ==> 50% profit 😃

100 doesnt show as 120 rather he weighs 80 as 100 because he weighs 20% less. Weighing 120 as 100 would not have made it a 20% cheating in weight.
So, 120 would be weighed as 100*120/80 = 150.
Hope that helps

bhai ek dam sidha question hai
assume ki 100 rs me 100gram aata hai
then mix impurity that is 20% of original weight
means 20 gram
now weight = 100 +20 gram
= 120 gram
but ab wo 20% ka error dalta hai matlab 100 gram ki bajay 80 gram hi deta hai
tab 80 gram = 100 gm
so 1 gram = 100/80
120gm = (100/80) * 120
= 150 gm
balance will show 150 gm
and cp = sp
so will get 150 rs
he invest 100 rs and earn 150
so profit = 50 rs on 100 rs
profit % = 50%
and now try these two question
Q1 a shopkeeper at the time of buying use 120 cm scale instead of 100 cm
and at the time of selling use 80 cm scale instead of 100 cm
and give discount of 20% on cash payment if cp = sp
then find out profit %
Q2 a trader cheat by 10% more at the time of buying and when sell cheat
by 10% less so find out profit %
now do these and check ur concept

let price of 100gm = 100rs
now cheat at the time of buying
he buying 110 gm in 100rs
and at selling time he sell 90 gm in 100 rs
so sell 110 gm in (100/90) * 110rs
so profit = (1100/9) - 100
200/9 on 100rs
so profit is 22.22 %
i hope clear ho jaayega
there is formula for chet concept
profit % = {error / (true value - error)}* 100

the remainder when 2^2+22^2+222^2+2222^2+........+(222....49twos)^2 is divided by 9?
plz help me out guys...
My take:
a)2
the pattern of reminders is (4+7+0+1+1+0+7+7+4+0)+(4+7+0+1+1..)*4 times + same pattern till 9 more term;
so total = 31*4 + 31 = 155/9 = 2 as reminder (if am correct) :O
pls post the OA

2^2{1^2 + 11^2 + 111^2 + 1111^2 ................... + 1111111(49 time)^2}/9
when a no divide by 9 remainder is sum of digit like 23456 divide by 9
remainder 2+3+4+5+6 = 20 = 2+0 = 2
so above expression divide by 9 remainder will be
= 4( 1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 +4^2+ 5^2 ..................... + 49^2 )/9
= 4 * {(49 *50 *99)/6} / 9
= 4* {49 * 25 * 33} / 9
= (4* 4 * 7* 6)/9
= 16 * 42/9
= 7 * 6/9
= 42 /9
= 6

easiest approach would be like this...u can do this orally too..
let's say
S.P=C.P=100 rs
nd
Irs= 1 UNIT
as in ist case...
he used weights
i.e 20 %
it means it charged money of 100 units by selling only 80 units
now c.p =80 rs
nd s.p =100 rs
again dishonesting by adding impurities ( taking the cost of impurities =0 )
new weighted volume will be
120 ( as it was 20 %)
NOW s.p=120
but c.p =80 rs only
therefore
profit will be 50 %
